Green loves the family feel at Auburn etc. Cooper was recruiting him hard this weekend. Says he may visit USC and UCLA. Would not name a leader or top group. Will announcement his commitment on Christmas Day. What a present that would be for us.
not getting my hopes up on Green... absolutely no firsthand knowledge, but we’re competing with too many Nike schools... add in the rumblings - whether true, potentially true, or complete bullshit - that he’s considering skipping college to play in a professional league somewhere for a year before going to the NBA, and I just don’t see it happening

I went to see the Bams play UT when Leon Douglas was a senior at Colbert County & maybe one of the top 10 players in the country. Boogs were after him, but the Bams trotted him out to mid court right before tip off as the crowd of 12K chanted “WE WANT YOU”, and it was over. Obviously I was only 3 months old because I’m still way to young to have been any older. Have that memory bank going for me when it comes to the hoops tho
Speaking of young Justin. He has a pretty little pop shot from behind the arc. With some dungeon work he could end up being a better version of Scotty Pohlman.
Scotty Pohlman wouldn't even sniff garbage time minute for Bruce. He only had one season where he shot over 33 percent from 3 which is trash for someone that's only job was to be a sharp shooter. By comparison, the whole boog squad this past season shot 38 percent from distance.

In regards to Green, I'd be shocked if he ever plays college ball. Heard this from the same guy that told me Cooper was going to Auburn, last Spring.

Well it's past time that I take down that "double dribble" avatar & move on with my new favorite high school squad. Officially adding Powder Springs to my bucket list. And the purple fits the Greg narrative as well.
Powell is a sharpshooter who appears to be athletic enough to get to the basket as a secondary offensive skill. Hate to get ahead of ourselves, but I have a feeling he will end up having a huge impact on our program. Unlike the 5*s, he's likely a 4 year guy and he has the shooting ability to be a deadly guy from outside in our offense. The deeper 3 point line may work to his advantage as it means he will have an easier time getting open looks. I love Bryce, but Powell appears to be a good bit better at this stage. If Powell comes in and gets the necessary playing time his first couple of years, I could see him putting up huge career numbers.
Powell’s biggest advantage over similarly skilled players we’ve had in the past is he’s 6’5” - 6’6”, and hopefully still growing... I can’t find anything on his wingspan, but assuming it’s equivalent or longer to his height, that length is what gives him a higher ceiling than the Bryce, Pohlman, Harrell, Tay Waller guys we’ve had
his release isn’t slow but isn’t what I’d consider quick, but his length allows him to compensate and still get his shot off against closeouts or off the dribble in the midrange

Being that this is the best collection of boog basketball fans on the planet, I know that Im just preaching to the choir, but I would be remiss if I didnt point out that Bryce was an instant impact because of what he did on the defensive end of the floor more so than anything else. While Powell might come in being a better shooter, I would be shocked (based on racism) if he was a bigger impact.

Man I was really liking our chances with him. hope that this causes some of the other Duke cruits to jump on board before they fill up. They already got 4 commits and like 3 more that they are leading for or in top 3. Not sure how many spots they got left
