Powell’s biggest advantage over similarly skilled players we’ve had in the past is he’s 6’5” - 6’6”, and hopefully still growing... I can’t find anything on his wingspan, but assuming it’s equivalent or longer to his height, that length is what gives him a higher ceiling than the Bryce, Pohlman, Harrell, Tay Waller guys we’ve had
his release isn’t slow but isn’t what I’d consider quick, but his length allows him to compensate and still get his shot off against closeouts or off the dribble in the midrange
we haven’t had anyone with his skill and size that I can think of as a good comparison... he’s not a star, but he’s a perfect fit for BRUCE and more importantly BRUCEketball is a perfect fit for him... he will max out his potential playing in BRUCE’s system with the athletes he’s going to be surrounded by
