Dang. Good enough to get in the mix but getting worked by the blue bloods. Feeling worse about Green too

I have faith that Lord Bruce has a backup plan. Just hope our star gazing has not run off the likes of Moore, J Will and Murrell. Looking through the list we don’t seem to be in on many other bigs and that’s really what we need in the 2020 class. Maybe he has his eye on some grad trannys or JUCO bigs.

Think it hurts more knowing how much JB liked AU. Someone who spoke with him as late as last week said he really felt at home in Boogville and thought he was close to committing after Rife made it official. Can’t blame him for accepting his “dream offer”.

Would be nice to get some good news On GBIII and Cliff O. Going to be a long wait till Dec 25th on JG. Not surprising that Memphis is on his mind after his visit, but he posted this yesterday “Last night in Memphis :( “...hopefully Rife quickly redirects his thoughts with a barrage of calls showing him some Boog love.

that twitter avatar makes my pants shorter

I’ve written off Brown even before the Kessler/Brakefield debacles, which only make me think it’s even less likely he decides to Boog with us - but he’s been my #2 most wanted the entire cycle (Sharife, Brown, Boston, Kessler in that order - Green moved to 3rd once he decided to OV)

I still expect Brown at Texas or UNC, and Green either to Memphis or overseas for a year - but salty BRUCE is gonna force Nike to go digging through the couch cushions now

I just saw an interview with Jalen Green on Zags blog. He specifically mentioned that he liked the small City feel of Auburn because there were less distractions. Didn't go into a lot of detail, but I might feel slightly better about our chances after reading

Just saw another video interview with Jalen Green. Specifically said he had no interest in the blue blood schools. His whole thing is being different from everybody else.

Hope he doesn't discover this board and learn that Auburn is indeed a blue blood. I would link it but I can't link shit from this new phone

Might end up regretting it, but I am starting to get my hopes up about this kid because of his desire to be different. Auburn is the different school even among the schools he likes

I’ve started to believe the hype more myself. I think his relationship and comfort with the Memphis crew will be the biggest hurdle to overcome, but if he wants small town and does not mind leaving home, then the Boog basketball program could be in for the best Christmas present in its history.

I keep going back to a text conversation I had with someone who talks with a lot of these guys regularly. After his OV I asked if he had legit interest in Auburn. What he told me was that Jalen does Jalen. He is not influenced by outside forces to do anything that he does not feel will be in the best interest of his basketball career. He believes in himself and that he will play wherever he feels will make him the best player and person. Big school, small school, close to home or far away. He said if Jalen visited AU, then his interest in Auburn is real. Said he is not like most kids in his position. He is super mature and would not visit a school just for fun, or to please anyone else. He said he is 100% focused on making his own decision.

Fingers crossed that he sees what Bruce and the Boog program can offer to check all those boxes.

A lot of blueblood fans seem sold he is going overseas. They just butt hurt he isn’t considering them or is that a real possibility?

Will say that I’m a little miffed that that no good owl eyed geriatric Rick Barnes is putting together such a good class in Tennessee

Yeah and a couple that Bruce even showed interest in. Only explanation I can think of is Nike cause no way any child would pick UT over the boogs.

Recruiting is not only about getting good players, but it is about getting players who are willing to come. Pearl set his sights about as high as he could have coming after the Final Four. The strategy of recruiting against Kentucky and Duke has not worked very well so far

takes the right mix, if these young bucks can see Okoro and some of the latest HYG additions in action the first part of the season they'll start looking to boog.

It is interesting how Barnes has really elevated his recruiting at Tennessee. In his first 2 years, he didn’t sign one Top 100 player. Last year, he signed his first 5-star player, Josiah James; and for 2020, he has 2 5-stars committed and is in the running for Banchero.

Barnes signed highly regarded classes while at Texas. I’m not sure if Nike is the reason why their recruiting is on an upward trajectory. It certainly doesn’t hurt, but the Vols have put together back-to-back successful seasons and do have excellent facilities. Anyway, like Bruce, I think Barnes is a really good coach and is good for SEC basketball.

This is an actual terrible take. You sign zero elite players that you don't recruit. If he says "we're just Auburn" then we never sign Okoro and we don't have Sharife committed.

How is it a terrible take? Really just stating the obvious. We targeted the best of the best and we have struck out on most of those guys so far.

It is my understanding that the top schools like Duke and Kentucky always put in more effort on Kessler, Greg Brown, and Brandon Boston

I still love Bruce, but I think he might have set his sights too high

If we end up with someone like Jalen Green I will gladly take back everything I said

We haven't missed out on anyone because Bruce was too busy recruiting other guys. So I'm not sure what the argument is against it. All the "back up plans" are still very much in play. None of them committed anywhere else that I know of. So There was literally no harm done in "wasting" time on Kessler and Brakefield.

the number one target for the last 2-3 years has always been Sharife - how’d that work out?

idk what order the others were on the board... even Kessler’s family thought he was gonna be a Boog - kid surprised everyone, but oh well shit happens... Brakefield was a Boog until Duke shocked him with an offer and he committed without even taking an official visit... if they don’t miss on other guys and he’s a Boog was that wasted time?

no one here ever expected to sign Boston or expects to sign Brown or Green... Nike is not letting those guys go away without a fight, but it doesn’t mean it’s wasted time

this isn’t football... 1 guy can make a class or change a program... Sharife alone makes this a successful class... any complaint about BRUCE’s approach is retarded

Chris Moore and Jaylin Williams on campus from Friday - Sunday.

Murrell is a player that could commit in the next week and will sign in the early period. Us, Vandy or Ole Miss.

Such a conundrum with all the elite studs we’re in the mix for and these 3 more than capable of developing into championship caliber players in Boogville.

Would def take Murrell right now. Haven’t heard anything too promising but hoops crootin is so secretive. Too bad we don’t have 247s Keith stalking these children for intel like he does the huthut croots.

Imagine caring more about what talent Gus is going to waste away than who the next Chuma is going to be. Weird.
