very generic... visit was good, people were nice, he’s a top target and we’ll wait on him to decide, picking between Boogs, Memphis, UNC, Kentucky and Texas

I know it's just really unlikely at this point for multiple reasons, but what if the stars aligned for this lineup:

Sharife
Jalen Green
Okoro
Cambridge
Brown

Showtime at the Clam. I'm not greedy though gents. A lineup of Sharife, Jalen, Cambridge, Brown and Stretch/ Cliff would do me just fine.

yeah - that first lineup, from a pure spectacle perspective is amazing... but from a “there’s only 1 ball to go around” and team defense, rebounding perspective, I’d mix both replies for

Sharife - Green - Okoro - Brown - Stretch

I’m not sure you could build a better lineup... it’s the theoretical apex of BRUCEketball... it could potentially be a smidgen short on outside shooting depending on what Brown does and how Sir Isaac develops... but we’re so far beyond picking nits at that point it’s untoward to continue

It's beautiful.

From Boog super booster:

First on Powell. Interesting news item on him. He last year dealt with a hip issue. That is behind him now but from his last MRI his growth plates are still open. He has grown to 6'6 and there is an expectation that he may arrive on the Plains at a legit 6'7 which could help him become an elite shooting guard for us. He is athletic, is a sharpshooter and with that type of height could make the kid special.

Regarding Browns visit. I hear it went about as good as it could have gone. Dad and Grandad love BP. Greg was blown away by the atmosphere for the Iron Bowl and the love the hoops team is now getting on campus. He furthermore loved the new locker room which he did not see in the summer as it was not finished. Landing him is definately possible but it will be a dog fight till the end. The good news is we are right there for him and he has warmed to us considerably.

Lastly, regarding landing Brown and Green. The best pitch we have is we are the only program that can offer those two the abilithy to come in and play as three top 18 kids. They can make history together and Green and Brown will have the best HS PG in the country constantly feeding them the ball. Could be really special......Time will tell but we are in great great spots with both as of this typing but we could miss on both as I hope all know.

He almost seemed disgruntled by your question.

a lot of rivals employees stay looking for reasons to get upset - they continually misconstrue simple, harmless comments and search for ways to talk down to people because, deep down, they know they’re completely expendable

which is nothing to be ashamed of... most of us are completely expendable... a trained monkey could do my job... but these guys also crave being thought of as “experts” and need to find any way they can to try to elevate themselves to feed their egos

it’s a tale as old as time, really

I thought of two in particular as I was reading.

I just saw something where Justin Powell posted that he is eligible in 1 more week. Does that mean he can join the team this year? If so that’s the first I’ve heard of it

Don't think we have a scholly for him to use this year even if he could

Yea that’s what I was thinking. Curious what he meant by being eligible. Was he not eligible to play HS ball this year? Regardless, if he does grow to 6’7 with his ball skills and outside shot he could be something really special.

wasn’t sure where to drop this but figured this thread is the place since it’s more of a look ahead thing... anyhoo, “insider” on the Boog board says as of now Sir Isaac plans to come back next year to play with Sharife, and that info is from Isaac himself

dude has definitely had inside info on the hut hut team before - the stuff I remember is him posting injury news and updates before anyone else had heard about it - but I’ve been gone so long I can’t speak to the accuracy of his b-ball info... but, I’m not shocked if he’s close enough to things he actually talked to Isaac at the game last weekend

anyway - by March, when he’s a lottery pick, playing with Sharife may not be as appealing as cashing those checks even if they are the bestest of boys... so I still expect him to go, but it’s not a foregone conclusion

It's tough because I could see the lack of shooting prowess causing him to fall down draft boards. Could be a guy that gets projected somewhere in the top 15ish and then falls a little lower. So he definitely could be a kid that gets that J figured out with Steven in the dungeon and comes back and leaves as a top 5 pick. That being said, if he's a lottery pick I think Bruce might even encourage him to go. You don't want to lose a guy going that early and yet another opportunity to show what you can do for elite talent that comes to Auburn.
