******Official Boog Recruiting Thread******

So now rice is actually saying saban is a terrible coach and he only wins b/c he has more talent than everyone. He does have more talent..but Im pretty sure all those trophies and rings say hes a good coach as well.
Again, recruiting is 85-90% of a college coach’s job. If a HC or assistant coach can’t (or won’t) recruit, they’re basically a liability to a program. Period.

I feel like the RB thing shades more towards bad luck than mismanagement. Losing Roc, Jovon, and Peyton Barber all in one off season really set them back. Then having Alaric Williams not qualify in that next crootin class added more to the problem. Basically set the position back a few years. But they should definitely have addressed the issue sooner
Yeah, not a damned bit of that comes to recruiting philosophy, strategy, nor results. None of that has to do with making sure you keep the kids around you need. It's just luck, not shit show program management.

4 years would represent a whole team though. Makes a lot more sense when you’re trying to make an argument about depth. Why leave out the senior class?
You don't have to be our rice, bruh. It seems like that's how you decided to entertain yourself this season, but the results are pretty meh.

Oh man. If only rice could see this haha. He backed off of it but he was defending so hard he pretty much said gus is a better coach than saban. He was saying if saban had gus talent then he would lose more games than gus does.

Maybe that's true (I doubt it), maybe it's not. It doesn't matter because Saban is not a shit ass program manager who would have to trot this OL and RB corps out in his 6th year.

I mean, he would t have the run he’s had at bama but we do have talent. He most certainly wouldn’t have lost half the games gus has.

Bryan is not making a good point with that article.

The problems we are having are because of supremely poor talent evaluation and development.

It was not long ago that people were lauding our OL class as one of the best in the country. Now, the problem is that we don't have any talent?

I'm skeptical.

If we have signed 12 offensive lineman in the last 4 years then we have not helped ourselves much. Not a lot of room for those that are busts. OL and DL are the life blood of your program.

Kodi may be the only coach on offense earning their paycheck.

So it begins. @L I G E R still rustles rice. Lulz.

All I'm going to say is once there was a man named @L I G E R who warned about this x1500 times and no one gave it the credit it deserved. Even when Gus was winning and it was unpopular to cast shade on anything AU.

Rice:
Wait, you mean the same LIGER that stated that Robert Leff was the worst RT we've ever had...and then went on to be 1st/2nd team ALL SEC in 16, that guy? Lolz.

Yeah, definitely never said Leff was the WOAT RT we’ve had. I said he wasn’t the kind of player we should be hoping to carry our OLs. Which, when you consider he was on campus for 4-5 years and gave us one productive season, it seems I was right.

As much as the narcissist in all of us would like to think that we’re the center of Rice’s world, I really don’t think he gives a shit

I think it's somewhat overblown, especially now that we're not around, but his posting history builds a strong case otherwise.

FWIW I’d take Rob Leff in a heart beat at the moment. God it sucked saying that.

I’m curious as to how this went over in the Boog board.
He ignored it sadly.

As much as the narcissist in all of us would like to think that we’re the center of Rice’s world, I really don’t think he gives a shit
I don't think he does either but I think he really does care about his opinion and being "right" and I think its why he argues to the bone on everything. Even if I believed I was right about something as unimportant in life as a team I root for I still would find it so exhausting to care as much as he does.
Its fun to talk about and some days I talk on tbb/here more than others about Auburn but it fluctuates. Hes hardcore all the time and its not the only board he does it on so, as much time as he spends debating, I think he cares about his opinion a lot.

Yeah i agree but there are a lot of teams with good and serviceable OLs that aren’t stocking up annually 3-4 deep.

Just seems like an “I can fix it easily by just signing better players” instead of self scouting yourself.

Gotta think the decommits start rolling in now. UT was one team we were still sort of ahead of in the pecking order even though it wasn’t gonna be long till Pruitt put them ahead of us.

Miss St too I mean would be hard to fall behind them but we got a few kids committed from MS. Oh well doesn’t make much diff I guess just be kinda funny at this point.

Well, they have beaten us 4 of the last 7 years.
