******Official Boog Recruiting Thread******

It's kind of werid what happened to the freshmen DBs this season. Traivon Leonard got a fair amount of early playing time (think he definitely played in the first 3 games) and then he disappeared. Then right when he dessappeared, Jordan Peters started getting tons of PT and in more and more crucial moments.

will be interesting to see what they think of Askew after bowl practices.

Asa seems like he could push for the #2 spot next year, assuming Kerryon back and Pettway not. If Kerryon leaves, Asa could be the starter in my opinion. I think he’s better than Barrett

I just have this feeling KJ isn't coming back. I think his evaluation is going to be too good and he'll test well enough to pass the draft with his injury history. Too much risk to come back IMO.

I think Asa becomes the bell cow by midseason. I think he's built better to handle everything we ask a RB to do in the current system. I don't think Barrett and Martin are. I also think we will look to pick up a JUCO or grad transfer RB if both Kerryon and Pettway are gone.

We differ on KJ returning and Barrett.

I think KJ comes back, but I also think Barrett will be an absolute stud. I think he and Asa could be such a great 1-2 combo with little difference between the two. But that would only happen if Gus would understand the importance of playing multiple RBs (when it mattered) during a game.

I think everything with KJ will depend on his eval. If he gets positive feedback from it, I think he goes. But I have seen a lot of people say they think he comes back. So I won't rule it out.

And I'm just not sold Barrett will ever get big enough. He's about 25 lbs lighter than KJ. I think Barrett would need to get into the 205-210 range to be an effective every down RB like we've become accustom to using. And I'd love for us to share the load at RB, but IMO we have to have 2 RBs capable of doing everything within the offense. I don't know that we have any if KJ and KP left. I have high hopes for Asa because he already comes in at a bigger size than Martin or Barrett, and he will put on some good weight this offseason.

I think Barrett is gonna be a boss. Even being a little undersized right now, he ran hard as fugg this year and didn't avoid contact at all. Proved that he can take hits, has the speed to break long runs, and he's also got good hands out of the backfield. He's already bigger than KJ was as a true frosh, or he at least looks that way to me. Give him winter and spring workouts and he'll be the total package. I'm surprised people are doubting him. It's not like he's a baby like little Kam. Barrett has the frame to be a stud.

And I'll the odds at 0% that Asa starts against Washington. No chance Malzahn gives a true frosh the reigns that early.

I mean, I know it's sacrilegious or whatever to compare someone to the almighty CAM, but this kid is like 6-4 220 and boasts elite speed and is jump cutting and making 6A Florida HS defenses look silly. Hopefully Chip can turn him into a decent passer, but this kid has crazy amounts of talent.

I think Greatwood will come in and red shirt. Then the battle will be between him and Willis. Barring an injury Stidham will go pro after next year.

I could easily see Gatewood being used for goal line packages. Especially if KJ leaves
 
I know Greatwood is great but man Nix looks like the real deal. I hope we can sign him too. One of them should pan out.

I have been told he is coming to AU. No way around it. FSU was biggest threat before Jimbo went west. Uga has basically moved

Incorrect. Called him “Sean White with more mobility and a slightly better arm”.

Hope I’m wrong and he’s the next Aaron Rodgers for us.

I’ll never forget Rice also telling us that we were racist bc we didn’t think Stidham was as athletic as Nick Marshall. Whenever he tries to compare players, he’s just an idiot.

He also said Eli Stove was just like Emory Blake

Rice's basketball comparisons are actually not bad. He once compared Chris Jackson to Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, which I think is pretty spot on.

Well he ban bet you that Stidham would have 200 yards rushing in 6 games right? Of course he will never own up to that.
