I hate Gus so much and that’s never gonna change. But moving away from the god forsaken fat bodied walk on HBack position in favor of the TE may be enough for me to enjoy boog huthut again even with Gus at the helm.
I know no one cares about football recruiting but the JBoy show does a podcast on wednesday that is just a rundown of where AU stands with their top targets. Encouraging news on the top corner in the land.

Auburn also has offered McKinstry the chance to play basketball, which is very important to him. Having Bruce Pearl aiding in recruitment is a huge advantage for Auburn.

i'd have to try and find it. But it was just that @LonelyTalegater guy and a few others went found the guys venmo and saw that he'd paid some recruits for "scoops"
Bo nix's size and arm strength are definitely not an issue. And he's actually pretty damn athletic. Was he overrated? Yes. Is he anything like Sean White? not really. The mechanics part is probably right. But his issues seem to be just overrall bad decisions. Whether it be leaving the pocket early or just thinking he can throw into tight windows
I think so. There were a bunch of screenshots going around on twitter about it. But he's not big enough for it to be a big deal. And to be honest, it's not that big of a deal bc I'm sure there's something similar going on with all of the recruiting dudes. Don't know. Just thought it was funny
Looked up the stats and SW indeed had a better QB rating than Bo’s 135 v 121.
Reviewing SWs career stats I continue to be ill over JF3 not being the boog QB 2016-17. Avg 9.3 YPC OMG. Him and Kerryon and Pettway in the read. Running around in circles and launching it downfield to NFL stud Darius Slayton. My what should have been.
All of this QB talk is meaningless as long as Gump continues to recruit the OL like it’s his part time hobby. Go check out the article about how many top 10 OL recruits uga has signed during the Kirby ERA and it will be very clear why we continue to get our a$$es run up in by the premier programs in the SEC. It’s the most important position group on the field. Sickening how many top Ol’men they have/have had on their roster just in the past 3 yrs. They just keep rolling out the NFL caliber talents every year. Won’t be long before Arkansas is doing the same. JUCO’s, projects and converted DL’ men just won’t cut it when you are playing big boy football.
I went back and read a lot of this thread last night. The most outspoken person in it has me believing that Bo will hook up with Pickens for multiple TD’s this weekend and continue to be our savior. And that Stidham was/is a pvssy because he left the pocket too early when here. That’s hilarious in hindsight.

Everyone who's ever dared to have an actual opinion on this site has had some blunders. I include myself in that 100%.
I think we're all correct though in knowing that Gus' shitty decisions involving O line coaches and recruiting is his biggest weakness and is the biggest issue. And that includes him being an absolute dumbass

With Gus, it has never changed.
He always thinks he is the smartest man in the room. And if something isnt working, none of it is his fault and it's all on the players and their lack of execution

FTR, what did his two years in the NFL, playing for the greatest coach of all time, prove you to be correct about regarding Stidham?
Jimmy is weird about Butch but I don’t think anybody takes him seriously.
I’m going to stick with the opinions of one of the greatest coaches of all time and one of the most successful professional sports organizations of all time myself when it comes to Stiddy. I’m still happy for you that your opinion seems validated now though. Congrats!

Nothing makes me think he has confidence in Stidham. From the signing of Cam to starting Hoyer. And the when Stidham did get in, Oh Boy!
Yes. The same ones that have used a NFL roster spot on him for the last two years. In that league where you only have 53 spots available.
As for his performance, he threw one good pass and one bad one. Certainly wasn’t a Bo Nix type performance that would have a guy like you singing his praises.
Talent is there, but for some reason, he still plays with this backyard football mentality.
This year has been a big combination of inaccurate throws and drops on easily catchable balls. Not a great combination.
He has not taken the next step this year. I think he would benefit greatly from another HC.

Stidham had a Stidham issue. Regardless of coach, he just wasn't a good QB. Still isn't.
Bo has the talent. I put a lot in Gus, but that doesn't mean No doesn't have any fault

Yeah think I’d have to side with the HC of the NE Patriots on this one. He wouldn’t even be allowed in their facility if he wasn’t somewhat talented.
His #s were way better at AU than Bo’s so far. Which doesn’t say much but he does have the tape from his Baylor days when he was in fact a stud. Was pretty clearly destined for the 1st rd and Heisman contention but then Gus happened.

Bruh your bias is showing pretty hard here. You're willing to blame Gus for Nix's lack of development but not for Stidham's.
True Freshman Stats:
Stidham: 75/109 (68.8%) 12 TD/2 Int QBR - 199
Nix: 217/377 (57.6) 16TD/6Int QBR - 125
Obviously Nix was the starter for the entire year and Stidham played because of an injury and then got injured himself, but obviously you have the stats of two talented players. Nix isn't an NFL guy right now, but that has more to do with God-given ability (and height). Stidham would not still be on an NFL roster if he wasn't showing potential. Also, I had read that Stidham was going to start over Hoyer if Cam missed another game.
I am going to be honest and say that outside of 13-14 every starting QB of the GM head coach era has made me want to forget they ever donned an AU uniform.

What is sad is that there are holdouts who think "If only Gus could have gotten Watson, Fields, or X player" when the truth is he would have just ruined their poor careers too.
bo and Stidam certainly have one thing in common, both were completely shell shocked by their 2nd season
