he could be the next Drew Brees... Gus couldn’t win the SEC with the actual Drew Brees though, so...
Athletically, Sean White is probably a fair comparison. If we could keep the defense at an elite level and actually recruited elite RBs, then we could win a championship with him. That being said, I think his NFL prospects are slim because his measurables are going to hold him back unless he hits another growth spurt. I could be wrong, he could be the next Drew Brees for all I know.
I'm not familiar with high school football competition in this state, but he looks a lot more athletic than White, maybe not as shifty. He is doing some downhill running in the highlights I've seen and making 1-cut open field moves that are impressive.
I also don't think he's done growing.
He’s not leading us into Amen Corner and taking down Kirby and Saban defenses with a JBGrimes recruited OL blocking for him.I'm not familiar with high school football competition in this state, but he looks a lot more athletic than White, maybe not as shifty. It just isn’t going to happen.
Athleticism can be tough to judge on film. Just keep in mind even if it was 7A and not 6A, only roughly 1% of the other kids would be playing SEC caliber ball. Not being done growing is the better argument, because maybe he can continue to get bigger, faster, stronger.

Stidham is a much better QB with a terrible HC developing him and the game plans he’s forced to execute. So you think he is worse than Stidham?
See I just don’t think we can win championships with a QB like that. We can have good seasons and win a lot but not win it all.A buddy of mine who is a bama fan high school baseball/football coach, but only loosely because bama didn't offer him and he played baseball at Jax State, went to the PV Austin game and he told me that Bo Nix was the best high school player he has ever seen in person. Now that being said, when I watched his film I thought that what makes him great is the little things. I don't think his arm strength is elite, but his accuracy is. His footwork is amazing, and I think that's a big part of why he is so accurate. Athletically, Sean White is probably a fair comparison. Grimes is arguably the worst assistant to happen to our program since Greg Knox.
He doesn't look small to me. I see a frame that will carry 205-210 pretty well. He's got 32 months before his redshirt freshman season even begins.

He posted a happy birthday thread to himself on tmb this week. I felt bad for him as there’s no way he has any friends with the way he acts.Dude is a know it all of epic proportions. I don’t know anyone that thinks more highly of himself than that guy.
That last part matters a ton more than most want to believe. NM14 was a gamer but he’s the line of “effective enough passer” and anything below what he offered isn’t going to cut it. So most DTQBs are going to struggle in all honesty.I kind of agree. I'm worried that Stidham stays two more years and then the next QB is Nix. I'd like to see us get back to athletic QBs who can really hurt you with their legs, BUT they still have to throw enough or we won't be able to beat bama.
Great class if true. Still don’t think it’ll be as good as the one D Craig signed. Ncm, KD11, and Eli Stove are all badass es. Just a shame kd was kicked off the team.Hunter just hinted that Kodi has managed to procure Jamarre Chase to this class.
Jodi Burns is about to sign the best WR class to ever step foot on AU’s campus. Props.
If he pulls that off I will be glad, and then I'll be wondering who is going to coach them up.Hunter just hinted that Kodi has managed to procure Jamarre Chase to this class.

The Gus factor is what keeps me from wanting to boog hard when it comes to football. That last part matters a ton more than most want to believe. I like having Nix on board with Gatewood and Willis. We have options. If he can be as accurate as Stidham (and he could be and also offer better pocket instincts which has been a real problem) we can be really good with the right compliments around him. If that’s our fallback from Joey Greatwood being Cam 2.0 I’m good with that.
But being honest here, players only matter so much right now. Our success or failure rides on the versions of Gus we get. Derp Gus can’t win much. Open minded and aggressive Gus is at least interesting and has potential. Before you can predict what we are going to win with QBx or QBy we need to know what we’re getting from HC1
Any news in JLee’s war room today?
Disappointing about Walker but I’ll take Tannor and Goiraige for sure.We gettin' errbody (but Walker and Ross).
He didn't say that, but thinks we get Tannor and can make a big move for Langham/Chase/Goiraige

I can celebrate BRUCE year round for the next 7 years easily.7 more years and then we're free
Yummy yummy studs in Bruce’s tummy.
Here’s a little blurb I found:Yummy yummy studs in Bruce’s tummy.
Someone that’s a better scout than me can tell me I’m off, but Okoro looks like an almost identical Stapha replacement.
Excellent. Basically a bigger, longer Davion at the moment. Bring him in to Bruce's Home For Wayward Shooters and he'll be raining threes in no time. Here’s a little blurb I found:
Lockdown Defender: Isaac Okoro
Okoro’s size, length, toughness and athleticism make him arguably the top defender in the 2019 class. At 6-foot-6 with a 6-foot-9 wingspan, Okoro will be able to guard the two through four at the next level with no issues. Offensively, Okoro is best when he’s attacking the rim, where he can finish with contact. The next step for Okoro will be improving as a shooter, but he impacts the game in several other ways, including the defensive end where he’s a high level performer.
Davion had a pretty dready mop in HS, then came to clean cut U and has transformed into a handsome stud.gonna have to cut that hair
Yeah same one. Kid got a J. Maybe we can get back on him. I’m sure BRUCE will find a stud at his showcase 4 spot for that class regardless. That whole squad is ridic.
most impressive part of the whole thing to me was the 5:06 mark when Okoro skied through the high post - one handed the lob entry - and transitioned right into a drive... so fluid... so much length... he was born to boog for BRUCE
also, was #15 Jones the same kid that was committed for a while then he or we backed off? he was good too... if we’ve got another guy for the 4 who BRUCE likes better than him? *swoon*
I still can’t believe Gus hired him.Who’s our OL coach again?

@cookedw are the Boogs really gonna get that 5 Star wr J Chase? Who are his other favorites?
No clue. Down to us and LSU
