He had his opportunities to have a bigger role and be a go to scorer last season but he wasn't up to to it. In the beginning of last season, Bruce had no confidence in Jvon and let Samir run the point a lot (like he's doing great at now) and he was trash and it got totally scrapped. He's definitely a more improved player this season no doubt.

I also think at best he's a serviceable PG. He's better at the 2 and we just weren't going to play him a ton of minutes at the 2 because that was going to be Bryce and sometimes even Jared once JVon started playing well.

Guys play better in their best positions with roles that fit their game. We're blessed that some of these kids have been performing jobs for us that help us succeed that maybe aren't their best fits. That's some good team stuff there. But the more often we can have guys in their best roles/best fits the more dynamic we will be.

There are two important things to remember about Samir last year. First, apparently he battled a high ankle sprain. To me there is no doubt this is true just based off the difference in the way he moves out there this year. Second, Bruce asked him to play the 3 which he was undersized for but he did a lot of good things for us at the 3.

Samir hit a lot of big shots for us last year and he was a big part of us icing games late. I think we may have undervalued him because of the role he was asked to play and his injury.

too many posts above mentioned it to quote them all, but, to add to the "make their ass quit" discussion...

"One of their players - I'm not going to say who - came up to me and was like '(you guys) are killing us right now'" Doughty said. "Each and every team we've been playing throughout the year has been saying that in the second half. Once he said that, I just told my guys, 'Let's keep that foot on the pedal, let's run the score up a little bit more, let's get those guys who are not really playing into the game.'"
Extreme, extreme heat and he says it so matter of factly. Going against these boogs for 40 mins is soul crushing and they didn’t even have the pleasure of Sir Isaac the first half.

We’ve missed you. Take off your pants and stay a while.

pretty sure he was playing hurt a big portion of the season, which may have lead to his poor/inconsistent shooting at times.
