OT: 2019-20 boog hoops

Samir, Okoro, Wiley all getting drafted would be wild. Who is the 4th you're thinking of?
Mac was on some draft boards a few years ago before his injury. Danjel could work his way into the 2nd rd if he gets his 3 ball really going. Doubtful on both but it'd possible

knock on wood that this is the year he stays 100% healthy. His rebounding and improved FT shooting have been immense in helpin the boogs stay unblemished
Yeah been a beautiful thing. Miss St got a couple large children in their lineup would be fun to see Austin dominate them.

Happy New Year gents. Boog hoops is undefeated as we all know and I'd like to offer a long winded analysis of the squad as we approach the final huthut exhibition. Sort of in response to the nicely produced but entirely bizarre boog board video filled with inaccuracies.

First it's entirely unfair to compare this squad the one running roughshod over the college hoops world in late March. The best team in the country by a wide margin. But this one is better at this point in the season. Praise BRUCE for the notion that we can legitimately discuss making another run to the F4:

We are 7th in the country in scoring. Last year was somewhere around 30th. It lacks the explosive beauty but is consistently excellent at scoring around the basket and getting to the line. Defensively we're clearly better. Elite rebounding and shot blocking.

"Anfernee is a stretch 4 that moonlights at the 5 when Austin comes out" What in the fug? As we all know he's a stretch 5 that gets all his mins at 5 when Austin is out. Moving on..

"Samir is a spot up shooter not a 'bucket getter'" Hmm interesting. He's avg 3.0 2 pt buckets a game. 58% from 2. Doesn't sound like a ton but Dr C led the squad in 2s last year with an identical 3.0 2 pt baskets at a 57% clip. Samir also 5.5 FTA/ gm which is 1 more than Jared's team leading 4.5 last year.

Also, as far as bucket getters Sir Isaac an ungodly 4.6 2pt FG/ Gm. Austin 3.4. Jvon 2.8. This squad is feasting on attacking the goal and getting buckets.

Jvon. Ok he's not quite Jared, the best boog PG in AU history and the best in the country last year. That's ok. He's actually had some ridiculous games this season and most recently. He's better at finishing over bigs and through contact than Jared. Stats back that up and he's not even finishing like he's capable yet. The 3 ball is approaching Jared territory in terms of % made. He's a stud rebounder for a PG.

Would it be nice if he made more than 40% from the FT line? I would say yes. He doesn't have the handle or change of speed/ direction that Jared had. Not as crafty but I'm expecting improvements in terms of pushing the ball and executing the O. He's still doing pretty good there.

As far as things to improve there is not much other than just general execution and making shots. Of course that's really what it all comes down to. The O is kind of a joke when we are trying to get it into Austin. Need to just run the O, move the ball and if that gives us a chance to get a clean entry into the hulking youngster for a thunder jam so be it. Don't need to just pass it around lazily and lob it in there for a TO.

Anyway, squad is undefeated and on top of the college hoops universe for a reason. We good. There's really no one worth a fug this year. Nobody on par with the top 5-6 teams last year.

Had to get out & back in to give this one the old double like.
