OT: 2019-20 boog hoops

Those DUKE UNC and Kansas posters are extra rustled we don’t bow down and kiss the ring... it’s almost like we are the founding fathers and they are European monarchy.
I think Bruce may have broken UNC with that beat down in the tourney last season. They sit at 8-7 and not even ranked on the top 30. Guess The Bruce & AU took Roy Williams UNC seat at the BlueBlood table.

CLIFFS:
- BP adequately explains why our schedule is getting shat on

- talks J'von; says when you have an opportunity to "promote from within" it's always the right move because the employee / player deserves it especially when they put in the work / effort. Earned coaches' and teammates respect with his work ethic in the off-season and late last year. Could have recruited another PG, decided not to due to J'von's development

- On Okoro: the best or 2nd best wing defender he's ever coached. Plus defender on any position 1-5. Joy to coach. Huge mismatch, play him at positions 2-4. WINNER. more BRUCE gushing / player promoting, etc.

- JON notes our schedule while not as impressive as other top teams, the teams we did play will look good for us in March. BRUCE agrees. Wishes Wisconsin could've made the Brooklyn tourney final. Lol sorry Wisky not everyone can have an elite bball program and avoid those losses.

- BRUCE notes that he doesn't usually get invited to the top-tier non-conf. tournaments. JON seems sympathetic, and rightly so. this is an ABOMINATION

- Further info on why BRUCE is a scheduling mastermind. No surprise there.

- Bruce goes into his broadcasting career after UT, prior to AU. JON low-key probably looking for tips.

- briefly details his expert strategies on building team chemistry; BRUCE = bad guy, teammates = good guys. Wants guys holding each other accountable but not hate each other (seems like a good idea).

- BRUCE doesn't think about getting back to Final Four. One game at a time. Will lose at some point (idk about that Bruce). Don't get too high, too low.

- On Samir: BRUCE loves seeing Samir's progression through his AU career. Notes Samir locked down Nesmith in the 1H even though he didn't play great offensively.

- Bruce hypes up bama. "Best 8-7 team in CBB" (LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO get fugged bama)

- much more.

Trying too hard with that 2/7 rematch IMO. He’s got UL and FSU as 4’s. Can’t imagine UVA would fall to the 7 line at their current pace.

That pace went to hell in a hurry. The worst ACC in how many years??

I’m thinking maybe we spruce up the Clam a bit. I’ve noticed Oregon uses tree silhouettes & UDUB uses the Space Needle to confuse opponents. I’m thinking use the Sir Charles statue on one end & BRUCE on the other. Then maybe BO & CAM on the sides for distractions. Needs to be run by BRUCE first for sure tho. Might even help with crootin too.

Game day coming to the Clam?

ESPN’s College GameDay is coming to Auburn Arena for the first time ever.

The weekly Saturday morning pregame college basketball show will be on the Plains on Feb. 1 ahead of Auburn’s home game against Kentucky, which also marks the program’s annual AUTLIVE game. It will be the first time the show has been on location for an Auburn game, home or away, though head coach Bruce Pearl has made four prior appearances from his time at Tennessee.

“We’re excited about it,” Pearl said. “I had an idea a couple days ago, but it wasn’t cemented. I felt like maybe we needed-- I don’t know... I kind of felt like we had to win the (Iowa State) game to be in position, but it’s great for Auburn. It’s great for our university. It’s great for our community. All eyes of college basketball will be in Auburn, Alabama next Saturday. That’s pretty cool.”

Host Rece Davis and analysts Jay Bilas, LaPhonso Ellis and Seth Greenberg will be live from Auburn Arena, beginning at 10 a.m. on ESPN.

Kentucky and Auburn will meet at 5 p.m. on Feb. 1 in Auburn Arena, with the game broadcast on ESPN. It is expected to be a top-20 matchup between the two SEC programs, who last met in last season’s Elite Eight in Kansas City. First, Auburn will travel to Oxford, Miss., to take on Ole Miss on Tuesday.

Auburn and Kentucky have split their last six meetings, with the Tigers winning two of the last three in Auburn Arena.

“That’s just another basketball game for us,” senior guard Samir Doughty said."

Guess they aren’t gonna do gameday twice in a row but the Clam will once again be hosting the top matchup v LSU. Nova playing Seton Hall the only remotely close but both of them got waxed at home by unranked teams the other day.

Was perusing the NCAA tourney selection committee rules today and found this gem that should help out the boogs:

"2. If possible, after examining the previous two years’ brackets, teams or conferences will not be moved out of its natural region or geographic area an inordinate number of times."

So pack your bags for Tampa or Greensboro.

Would love to catch a tourney game.

Looking at our SEC stats it’s pretty wild how we’re at 8-2. Just some never say die HYGs.

Basically bottom half of the league in everything except rebounding and FTM/ FTA. 10th or worse in all shooting % categories. More TOs than TOs forced. Devan, Jamal, Isaac only guys over 28% from 3. Just makes me think if we actually start playing well.

Also PSA Andy Kennedy says he’s gonna be at the Clam Wednesday. Some boog student needs to have a Ron Jeremy fathead with them.

Yo, what record do you guys think wins the conference. Now that we tied for the lead and have the tie breaker (currently) over UK and have it permanently over LSU? I think 14-4 will win it outright. Can probably get share of it at 13-5. Lsu has the hardest schedule remaining out of hte three teams

Only thing is we have UK on the road and they have UK at home.

There is no tiebreaker. Every team that finishes with the best record is a co-champion. Hence UT got a title with us 2 years ago despite our head to head win over them.

I think it will take 15-3 to win the title outright. 14-4 for a 2-3 way tie.

a boog win at Rupp would pretty much do it. Otherwise not sure UK and LSU both gonna lose 3 more.
