He has these "contrarian" takes that are actually just bad opinions, like the dude legit would love to see AU be a perennial 7-8 win program as long as the brand is good ole boy christian men lunch pails to work blah blah....
He prob thought Jay Jacobs was a good ad. I made it through 2 videos before I just got mad that he's legally allowed to wear auburn gear.
Would 150% do the same thing if I was him, chances of winning a natty next year are low, he's an Olympian and NFL star, AU can't do anything else for him.

I've never thought he was worth a damn. He's fast that's it. And good God we overused him to the max of course and never allowed him to be good at anything. And by overuse I mean throw the ball to him 10 times in a row after not even throwing it to him for 2 quarters.
Maybe, and I don't mean this to sound arrogant, but I just hang out with people with a winning mentality, because I've never heard that take from people I know and my whole family is AU alum, donors, and friends I made at the school. None of us wanted Gus to stay and while there's a little bit of difference of opinion on character traits, most of us dgaf who the coach is or what he does in his off time as long as he wins.
Have you seen slayton in the NFL? Gus never had a clue how to use the talent he got. Flash has as good of a chance as anyone else out of AU of being a star because usage/production under gus has not been an indicator since cam.
Call it like you see it. Arrogant or otherwise. I have to deal a lot with what I call the Country Club AU fans. Season ticket holders that actually may not know the rules of the game but have seats going back ... You will find them at every Tiger Walk taking selfies. They love to talk about how the only thing important to bama fans is winning. And how AU gets a win where they can but we do it with class.
btw atm and unc has been an absolute hell of a game, favorite college game of the year tbh (didn't watch much au cause gus)

idk how many of you remember what it felt like when we landed Cam Newton, but I followed recruiting very closely at that time, I knew for a fact we had a very special player and barring violations, auburn was about to make history. I have that same feeling about this staff, its the perfect mix of new blood and expirience. Can't name a single person on the staff who's not a hard worker, can't name a single person who isn't incredibly competent, can't name one who isn't at least a 7/10 recruiter (and a few 10/10s) we will develop QBs, we will land top teir RBs, our OLine will be stout af... its a new day for Auburn football, and if I'm nick saban, I give this a year or two and make sure it pans out, but when it does, I retire. Not kidding, Saban is for sure sweating about now.

I hope you’re correct but in the history of AU football, we’ve never won more than 10 games three years in a row. We’re probably in the same boat. Biggest positive is that we don’t have a sanctimonious POS fake as HC.
I wasn't saying this before I saw who harsin got to come work for him....there's 0 reason not to think we won't recruit at a top 5 level, and why this isn't a top 5 staff. That's 10 wins/year easily if they stay together for a while.
