OT: AUBURN BASKETBALL

Absolutely. Last summer when he first got on campus I heard the same thing as I'm hearing now. He looks goofy and slow as hell as it is and when he first got here he was playing terrible. That's one reason I'm not too concerned right now but like you said he has some areas he needs to improve. He'll never be real flashy and we don't need him to be but the work ethic concerns me.

Yep. I think what worries me most is Chuma losing PT or not starting because of his lack of offseason work and Horace’s hard work being paid off and that having an affect on Chuma mentally during the season. He seems like someone who could check out easily, but that’s solely based on his laid back demeanor.

I think it's bad info. Chuma is going to be fine

Last summer when he got to campus he was injured from the U17 USA tryouts and at the time he was doing so good a lot of people thought he was going to make the team. But yes, he was probably not doing much when he got to Auburn last summer do to an MCL sprain along with a deep bone bruise. I have no idea where the laziness talk is coming from, but I suggest you tell your source that last summer Chuma was balling out.

I feel like Chuma just has that demeanor where it looks like he’s spaced out and not really trying. But then he looks like that while delittling the SEC POY down the stretch of a tight ball game. His training session videos have been the highlight of the offseason so far.

@Fatz Geronimo - I know this isn't really your thing but would you do a roster breakdown or a season preview or something? I just miss reading your posts since basketball season (no homo).

sure - it may be later this week, and I’m still not fully recovered from Davion spreading his wings and taking his chiseled, vascular features to that lesser conference, but I can give a companion piece to all of the other great work being done here

Seeing that Rutgers assistant Brandin Knight pop up around the net. I don’t how much buzz that creates but would be a shrewd move getting a guy that has a good in with the Boog Jr AAU squad we’re trying to get a bunch of kids from.

jhead thinks it would create a ton of buzz. Im in

Sounds like Knight and Rutgers is a threat to us for Okoro’s signature and would really help us land a few other recruits as well.

I was told by a guy who pays a lot of money to @AUMBB that it is absolutely not Knight. The guy played in the NBA but won't be the household name type homerun hire that most fans would be expecting. And is not from the SEC.

tyler harris on the Clipps summer league team but doesn't list the Boogs as his school. I mean, I get it. But let's get real. He got the most exposure from playing in the SEC

Knight was brought up on twitter be Evil Travis Williams and the masses ran with it. You had posters trying to conceive other posters it would be a hometun hire. Good job Evil Travis!

We're hearing credible chatter that Penn assistant IRA BOWMAN currently is the front-runner for the Tigers' staff vacancy. Bowman is from New Jersey, played in the NBA and (obviously) recruits in the Northeast — specifically NYC to Philly. One national hoops writer told me yesterday that he sees Bowman as a top-tier recruiter who has remained at Penn largely because, as a Penn alum, he felt strongly about getting the Quakers back to respectability. He had other offers.

Penn won the Ivy League title and made the NCAAs this past season for the first time in 11 years. Mission accomplished.

We're told a formal agreement isn't yet in place, but currently all signs point toward Bowman being the guy.

Hooks posted a couple of days ago stating he was hoping this is who it would be and though it would be a home run hire.
