Well their center fielder has taken 4 runs off the board in consecutive innings. We are down 2-1 in the 7th but as I was typing this Arky hit a double. 2nd and 3rd one out.

Tough loss. Thought we played well and looked competent at the plate. Had two or three hard hit balls caught by their CF that kept runs off the board. Still struggling to find ways to produce runs. Maybe a little more small ball might be appropriate. Still think we need to move Venter from that 3-hope spot. He’s struggling right now. Move Wright and Julien to the 3-4 spots and Venter down to 5 or so.

You know who isn’t afraid to play small ball?

I now rescind that statement in regards to last night. Just saw that we didn’t have a leadoff batter reach all night. Can’t play small ball with no leadoff guys on base.

But in general, I do think it would benefit us to try to play more small ball and attempt to manufacture a few more runs than what we’re currently doing. More hit-and-runs, more sac bunts. Try to get our base runners in motion and put pressure on the defense. Plus, I think some of that would help us at the plate hitting to the opposite field, which I think we’ve gone away from too much.

The positive is arky is 2nd in the nation in runs scored/HR (I think) so that’s good. We are in a slump though for whatever reason but we would have scored a few runs if that Cf didn’t make some great plays

A friend just told me it’s 24 with a 14 wind chill out there today. Bad day to try to break out of a hitting slump.

Mental error by Holland costs us an inning ending DP. Didn’t know how many outs there were. Holy cow I can’t even believe I typed that.

Auburn pitcher just walked in a run. Bases still loaded with 1 out.

10-2 Arky.

Simply embarrassing baseball on display.

Walked in another. You’d think Butch the pitching guru could at least get these guys throwing strikes.
Our players are mentally weak, like our HC and the Auburn program in general.

So in that regard, cookedw was right. Butch is a much better fit for Auburn than SUNNY.
