And it is official, Tommy John surgery for Davis Daniel

This would make it pretty likely for him to come back right? Has he redshirted? Can he get a medical redshirt?
He’ll be trying to make up all the money he left on the table last year as soon as he can I’d guess.
Unless he gets drafted in a similar position, making up that money takes a long time in baseball.
@DufnerFanBoy sounds like you had heard some of the same things. Started hearing about a month ago that his arm was in terrible shapeI think Daniel's arm is a tad worse than we think

Yeah, several people had hinted that things weren’t as good as being reported back a month or so ago.
Not sure how the NCAA would handle this. They could give him a RS this year and a medical next year. But I doubt Davis goes that route. I think he’s probably goes undrafted this year and tries to get ready for next year’s draft to see if he can be a late round pick next year and just get on with a team. The talent is there, and someone will take a chance on him.
It’s not unprecedented for a player to be drafted right after a TJ injury and surgery. South Carolina had a pitcher have TJ surgery in 2017 and was still a first round pick that year. But it’s more difficult for Daniel being an 11th round guy last year having to deal with that.
Sounds like yall understand this better than me. I guess the logic makes sense. In my eyes coming back and showing you still have it would lead to money far quicker than going the get paid very little and earn you way to big bucks route.
Since this is his third year and he'd likely not be able to pitch next year due to the surgery and recovery, he's two years away from pitching in college again. I think he could do that as a RS Senior, but I think it's more likely a team drafts him late in hopes that he recovers well and they get a steal in the draft.
Generally, returning for a senior year is a risk because you lose leverage in contract negotiations that you have as a junior where you can return to college if the money isn't right. Davis was always a bit of a unique draft case because he was a draft-eligible Sophomore who hadn't yet lived up to his HS reputation. Now add in the injury on top of that, and it's difficult to project where he will go. He's very talented, and most teams don't get scared off by TJ surgeries these days. But in a lot of cases, teams also get a chance to see that player pitch at some level after recovery or saw consistent, dominant pitching prior to the injury.
Keegan Thompson is a great example. He was a very talented HS prospect with good numbers as a young college pitcher. Had an injury and TJ surgery. He came back for a redshirt junior year and had a great year and ended up as a third round pick. That might not be a bad road for Davis to travel, but I imagine that will be a difficult road to travel.
We won a midweek? Man..that’s....uummm...rareWell that was refreshing. Several new guys had good nights at the plate. Conor Davis stayed hot. Several hits in important situations. Good to see.

Bryan Matthews said on Twitter that it was the first mid week win in 5 weeks. I assume that covered two losses to Georgia .Tech, the Montgomery loss to bama, and a previous loss to Jacksonville State7-4 now. Rare is probably not the best way to describe it but we had struggled recently.

That is a rice level move of a goal post you did right there.

Rough start. Vandy scores 3 in the second after a leadoff solo HR, an infield double, two walks, a sac fly and a wild pitch. Auburn promptly loads the bases with no outs in the top of the 3rd and scores no runs. Now, Tanner Burns has left the game with an injury, and we’re in a rain delay.
Ifs and butsHopefully it's just a blister like someone is reporting.
I hate that rule. Bliss was just hustling and had his right foot been a foot to the right, it's 3-2.

Welp.Save us, SUNNY!
Butch? Is he still coaching a 10U travel ball team?
Butch?
Sure has looked like it this season, considering the roster management on display.
I’m sure ole Bush Thompson has it under control though.
Ahem
