OT: Bracketology

I don't get how we're on the same seed line as Miss State. Does the committed not pay any attention to the how you finished the season?

I'm gonna be mad for a minute and then look at the positive angle. They really screwed North Carolina by putting the hottest, most dangerous team in the nation in their pod. Gonna be tough on the Heels

The committee enjoys screwing over bluebloods

we’re gonna have to beat 3 good teams to get to Minny regardless if we’re a 3/4/5... the only thing that changed is the order in which we have to beat them

if we can’t get by Kansas and UNC, then so be it

but if we do - that’s just a better look than beating FSU and Gonzaga

this is an opportunity - not a challenge

OMG I am shook. Congrats on blasting the shit out of UT to win the SECT here’s a 5 seed in the toughest bracket and the first game of the whole tourney.

Link to a NMSU game below. Watched a few highlights and this first half so far. They look like they want to play like we do. Fast and a lot of 3's. They only shoot 33.5% to our nearly 38% mark and they turn it over at a higher rate than we do while forcing less TO's themselves.

I know they played KU tough, but that was a game after they lost Azubukie to an ankle sprain (he came back the next month and played 2-3 games before hurting his foot and being out for the season). I don't see any size or elite athleticism. I don't see one guy who is like a poor mans Ja Morant and is averaging 25 per game in a bad conference that you worry about. The only concern I see is that they crash the offensive glass HARD. Remind me a bit of our approach last year.

fvcking.
horse.
fvcking.
shit.

that’s a bigger sham than the seeding... we got games spread all across the country and we’re gonna throw out a game in the goddamn mountains to start us off?

haven’t watched yet but from a quick peak at the stats, they play like 12 guys double digit minutes... I assume they just run and run til they’re about to give out and another wave comes in

they don’t want to try that shit with us... we shoot it better than they do, and they don’t appear to have anyone with enough size to be a problem

I'd be more concerned with a Saint Marys style team. In fact looking at the 11's and 12's I'm not all that upset about our draw for game 1. I was fearing some team with the DNA to slow the game down and grind us to a low scoring, frustrating half court game that was all about elite execution of sets. That's not in our bracket. I'm not ready to start trash talking my KU friend who is already texting, but I feel better about his one than I did our opener last year.

They got stomped by the 2nd best team they played this year, St Mary's. Their best win is over #96 in KenPom. They haven't played a team with a pulse since December. If we play our C+/B- game, we will beat them comfortably.

Assuming KU gets by Northeastern, they will be a challenge. They are not at full strength though. I'd much rather play KU than the other 4 seeds so I think we came out ok on the road to the Sweet 16. UNC will be tough, but I think we match up better against them than any of the other 1 seeds. UK is the worst part of our draw. Would be nice if someone else took care of them for us.

NMSU is a good matchup for us. It is great we avoided a team that likes to slow it down that has a strong big man. NSMU is going to want to run and gun and they are going to get rekt because that plays right into our hands.

And so we also draw an opponent that won their last game YESTERDAY by only 32 points? So they actually have two extra down days compared to us. Would still hate to be them come Thursday morning tho. They in for a whooping.

Selection committee chair was asked why we were so low and he said we took some losses that were concerning. We didn't lose a game outside of quad 1 or 2. They clearly didn't bother to watch us destroyed UT today. That win was more impressive than anything any team has done all year. No one else has blitzed a top 5 team like that.
