OT: JJ to step down... in 7 months

Some are saying we're going to have his replacement very soon in Michelle McKenna-Doyle. Not nearly as excited about her as I once was.

So PM stated yesterday that he no longer views her as the frontrunner (Said she was still it) and that he didn't expect it to be Benedict. Thinks it will be someone not mentioned (which may mean just on the 247 board, which wouldn't necessarily exclude some of the guys Rivals mentioned if that is correct).

Also said he would be surprised if the new AD wasn't hired by Thanksgiving

He is a mouthpiece for someone now, nothing more than that, but agreed on the woman not being the front runner

I take Tuberville today at this point.

Pollard would be solid. See he makes like $700k at Iowa St. Could give him a nice bump.

Do you post on 247?

Yes. But not a ton. Much less than Rivals. I keep that membership because of all the non-message board features and he fact that I still get my introductory annual rate from when I signed up before it was bought by 247.

The message board traffic over there is terrible (and slow).

I just signed up to lighten the mood.

if we hired Tubs as Director of Football Operations, or as a TUF liaison/fundraiser, I’d be all in on either move

hiring him as AD would be enough for me to give up hope for good that Auburn will ever run a competent athletics department... I’d still follow the boogs and wish them the best but I’d find other schools to root for and support primarily

Not trying to take a one way trip to Kohl's but how does anyone know that TT would be bad as AD? Sometimes people just need a shot to be great at something.

Maybe he would hire competent underlings to help in his areas of weakness. Not that there are not much better qualified candidates out there but it's not the most inviting atmosphere at the moment for someone to come into.

As an aside, maybe I like TT a little to much from my time on the plains. I'll show myself out.

The best argument I’ve heard against Tubs is his failure to fire underperforming assistant coaches during his tenure here. On one hand, that sort of loyalty is sort of commendable, but not as an AD. Plus there’s the fact that he has no experience running a 100 mil operation and he was foolish enough to trust Jim Donnan with his money. Love Tubs, but no thanks.

I haven’t forgotten how he seemingly quit in 2008 to stick it to Auburn, or people at Auburn (that’s my opinion). What happens when he wants to do the same as AD?

I doubt the circumstances could ever be the same but I don't blame people who think this way.
