BRUCE knew nothing. If the players knew nothing about any transactions they good. I'm having a hard time convincing myself we could be eligible for the TOURNEY but work with me people. I'm not giving up yet because the alternative is it's all over.

Also, with Arizona and USC involved (along with OK St) maybe we have enough firepower to tell the NCAA to F off.

Yeah, this is gonna really interesting how this all plays out. Louisville is also involved (I think). Gonna be a lot of people fighting this and big shoe brands will also be throwing in some cash as well, I'd imagine.

In all seriousness, Boog Bball may be finished in the short term. But this could really end the NCAA with regards to basketball. Then we'd be right back on a level playing field with everyone.

I'm so distraught bro. But yes the more programs involved the better. I haven't made it through the legal doc but Chuck got paid then paid a handler/ AAU corch or something. Which hulking youngsters were paid directly? As we all recall from the CAM sitch if the money goes direct to the parents or whatever without the child knowing (or admitting to know) then the kid is good.

Maybe MCGLYNN can earn his salary again for us.

It’s AW and probably MH.

This doesn't sound like Austin knew. And all the documents I've read are about contact between Chuck and "mother-1" or "mother-2." Nothing has been like the Ole Miss Laremy tunsil situation where he was directly asking for money from a coach.

I read it all and there is no way anyone survies this. Player 1 and Mother 1 and 2 met with the cooroborating witness, Chuck and the clothes salesman dude, who recorded everything including the transactions. Assuming player 1 is Heron and 2 is Wiley. Does not say Player 2 actually knew about it, but with all the evidence (wire taps, videos, emails, bank records, etc) I don't see a way in which Player 2 did not know, but maybe. Sucks for AU basketball forever.

In the words of Marcus AUrelius:

"There was once a dream that was Auburn Basketball. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish... it was so fragile. And I fear that it will not survive the winter. "

Excellent. I choose to holdout hope for the time being. CHUCK should know his way around this game even though tough to overcome an undercover FBI informant.

Damn. Well that really sucks

IIRC, the NCAA fixed that loophole.

Tate reporting that player, Person, and the undercover witness that set this all up met with each other in NYC when we played boston college and player agreed to use this agent. Person was then paid for this. We screwed and AU basketball is over

Yes. It is all in the 32 pages of the indictment. There is nothing left to ponder, except the actually names, which are not hard to figure out. Go read it. It is really, really bad!

Well, damn. That means we will be vacating wins against UConn, Oklahoma, TCU, Bama X2, etc. and still have not beaten a Cliff Ellis coached team. This is just the worst.

Gang, if AUBURN (university 1) is the VICTIM of these crimes then how can we as a university be punished? Victims of a corrupt system, a greedy assistant and NCAA that has turned a blind eye for too long. We must let BRUCE and these youngsters continue on their righteous journey and march to the TOURNEY. Can pay back any money that changed hands and serve a brief suspension if need be.

"Mr. Person accepted a total of $91,500 in the case, the complaint says, and is accused of passing on about $18,500 to the families of two athletes. The adviser, who is not identified, has been cooperating with the authorities, the complaint says. Mr. Person faces bribery, wire fraud and other charges."

Look gang, I'm not blind but if this is the extent of the major charges then I can see a way out. The charges against the other programs seem just as if not more damning.

I like the thought, but I think best case we lose Chuck, MH and potentially MW. Fear is once we start our own investigation (if we have not already) we will uncover even more. Other players and/or Bruce somehow knew, or should have known about it. If Bruce stays and we slide on any major penalties, we have a chance to rebuild. If Bruce goes and we get probabtion and bant from postseason we will never recover, and I would be ok canning the program and shifting those funds to football. If we can't win with Bruce and cheating we will never compete for anything of value, unless you are ok with participation trophies.

Remember the stories about Bruce having to sort out some discontent with the Heron family? When did that happen?

18k seems like a pittance compared to some of the other numbers I've heard. Chuck may be the fall guy here. But I'll be pretty surprised if Mustapha and Austin aren't ineligible

Yes but even that wouldn't be catastrophic. Maybe they can be suspended through December and come back. Just saying it's possible.

Don't reemember all the deets and what pages. Quick skim of 32 pages is already a fading memory. Just recall Chuck and Player 1 meeting with Cw -1 in NYC to discuss payments to help he and his mother out. Then Chuck and CW-1 met with Mother 1 to arrange payments, which the money was delivered per the doc.

Then Chuck and Mother 2 met with CW-1 and payments were made per the document. Did not say that Player -2 was invloved in the meetings, so maybe he was not aware of it. Find it hard in this day and age with electronic data, including wire taps that Player -2 is e-clean. Guess we will see

Do you know if the team/Bruce/University knew about this before today? Assuming team has/is meeting and there will be a Bruce/ University press conf soon. Any intel as to when?

I can't imagine they knew about an undercover FBI investigation and charges. They'll have to say something like today. Tomorrow morning at the latest. I choose to believe BRUCE knew nothing, or at least can't be proven to have known anything and the Boog AD is ready to fight for him and this program.
