OT: Y’all pray up for Rod bramblett. Involved in a terrible wreck

wow, just read this, horrible news. wonder who will emerge as his replacement?

RIP Rod

Hard to believe the damage that can be caused by being rear ended. Terrible news. Not really the most important thing right now, but that 16 year old that hit them is probably going to have a pretty hard time with this. Hope they weren’t texting

It happened around 6pm and I think they were heading dead west. That sun is BRUTAL right there.

I saw a picture of what I was told was their vehicle. Couldn’t tell where it was but it appeared the sun could’ve easily been a factor. Not sure how long after the accident occurred the picture was taken.

I read the 16 year old was also in bad shape. Didn't know he died.

How old are Rod Bramblet's kid? If they are teenagers or below that is really tough

Almost reminds me of Jim Fyfe's death. Very different causes of death, but both happened way too soon. Jim Fyfe was 57 when he died so almost same age

Idk if it’s true. Just what she told me before church

I just read it online. If you have a personal source, you probably know more than me

One was a student in AU and one will be a sophomore in high school.

Guy followed the Legend Fyffe & AUN never missed a beat. We may have accused him of being a homer, but that’s what everyone expects from the voice of their athletics department. The guy loved AU, and never did anything but represent the University in a great way. Also he said he would try not to do Fyffe’s trademark “TOUCHDOWN AUBURN” too often , but he did a very nice job of transitioning into that as well.

By all accounts he and his wife were outstanding people who lived a life of selfless service. Two kids lost their parents on the same day which is extremely heart breaking.

As a kid who was born in 1980 I always identify Auburn football with Pat Dye and Jim Fyffe. I believe most people around my age do as well. I remember when Jim died I was shocked and sad, because I could not imagine anyone else calling an Auburn football game. I was 22 years old when Jim died, so I was young and really didn’t understand how fragile life was. After reflecting back on Jim’s death it didn’t affect me the way Rod’s death has. Now that I have a family and two kids you really appreciate life more and the older you get you realize just how short life is on earth. I’m sure their kids will have a good support team as good people like Andy Burcham will do everything possible to help Rod’s kids make a smooth transition living life without their Mom and Dad. Hug your loved ones and let them know you love them. You never know when someone’s time is up.

Not sure anyone would know, but this story has me wondering how far UAB or any hospital would go to airlift a person. Auburn to UAB is obviously a pretty good distance

This is very random and don’t mean to be disrespectful, but does anybody have a ballpark idea of how much money Rod made?

I’d guess around 100k but made plenty in appearances/guest speaking things too. Just a guess obviously

I am just guessing but I would think even more than 100k considering he did all three major sports.

You are talking about close to 100 games between all three sports. When you look at all the travel and preparation that goes into all those games, you are talking about a huge investment in time. Not much time for anything else including family

It is really going to be interesting to see what they do to the kid if he survives. Do you try to charge him as an adult on some type of vehicular homicide charge?.

If you hit someone in the rear end hard enough to kill them, you likely didn't even slow down before the collision. That likely means you were either drinking, taking drugs, or texting. Those are all crimes
