Season Long SEC Football Discussion Thread

Let me know what I'm getting wrong here.

East
1. UGA
2. USCe
3. UF
4. Mizzou
5. Kentucky
6. UTk
7. Vandy

West
1. Bama
2. AU
3. Miss State
4. TAMU
5. Ole Miss
6. LSU
7. Arkansas
I think Miss st and Mizz are too high. Maybe drop state a spot and Mizz a couple spots.

State is going to be pretty good IMO. They lose hardly nobody. State buddies were certain Dan wasn't going to go to UF solely because of what they bring back this year. How Fitzgerald has recovered is massive for them of course, but their D (particularly DL) should be nasty.

East looks about right. Bottom 3 could end up in any order but thats probably the best guess. Florida is a wildcard, could be better could be worse.

West - looks right on paper. I think returning starters sometimes gets overhyped and thats the main reason State is listed as high as they are. They have 3 studs on the DL, but they also have a guy who isn't that great that will be a starter. Could see Jimbo having A&M as high as 2nd and as low as 5th.

I probably wouldn’t pick LSU at 6th in the West but they do have a tough schedule. UGA and UF as their eastern foes isn’t ideal.

I get that.

@kentucky to open
Florida
Auburn
@Lsu
A&M
@Alabama
Arkansas
@Ole Miss

I wouldn’t put a lock on any of those at the moment but maybe Ark. just my opinion.

So the boogs are adding Baylor and UCLA to future football schedules. Don’t see the interest in Baylor but at least it isn’t Clemson. I never want to see another Zahn Clemson gameplan again.

Sakerlina is going to win the East. They get UGA at home week 2 and after that they have the easiest conference schedule in the SEC.

Their road games are UK, Vandy, Ole Miss, and UF. Gotta be the easiest road schedule in the conference by a mile...

That week 2 game will probably be a low-scoring affair, but UGA will have more talent and should win in the end. Hard to see UGA dropping two more SEC games after that.

I’ve got Sakerlina winning a close one at home. Deebo will be the difference.

I loved USCe in that game until it seemed I was hearing everyone say that they felt that way

I'd flip LSU and OM jsut because I think LSU has the talent and the DC to keep them in games. Unless Burreaux is a stud, I think their offense is going to struggle against the better teams. Just don't think OM has the talent on defense or depth on either side to finish ahead of LSU.

Besides that, that's how I'd rank it.

Yeah I keep trying to tell myself Tua is JJ 2.0 but I know he’s going to kill it against UL and the media will drool over him.

Van Gorder is UL’s DC no way he can walk in that stadium without PTSD of 49-0
I like to f**k with the boog board about Tua but in all honesty he will probably be very good. He is surrounded by more talent than maybe any Bama team ever.

Actually have been watching & enjoying this program what with the GOAT and all. With that said, it's really kinda crazy that we pretty have much been the #2 team in the best conference in The Land since Saban has been here. It's actually incredible that we've done so well residing in the same state. Back during the original GOAT Bryant's era, we were a bottom rung program during his greatest run from '71-'80. '71, '72 & '74 were pretty great seasons, but from 75-80 we were just terrible. Actually the Boogs lost 9 straight to them, but LSU & UTENN lost 11 in a row.

That is silly. Not the 8 or 9 wins for the boogs but MSU with 10 wins.
Yeah. I get that every year the media needs some trendy pick to get clicks/attention. But the MSU hype is just dumb. New coach that’s never been a HC or in the SEC, a QB coming off a gruesome injury, and not that much talent besides two D Linemen. Doesn’t add up to a potential SEC title to me at all

I’m sitting here trying to think of who is Mississippi State’s HC without googling it..

Is it the Penn State OC?

Agree. I think being bowl eligible by the end of the year is a good goal for them. That still may not happen.

This gone be the year our lack of consistent OL/RB recruiting and WR development gone git us kilt, I’m afraid.

The SEC as a whole is weak af. There is UA in the West and GA in the east. AU is spoiler in the West but we have 2 away games that will make it improbable to win the West. SC/UF could be spoilers in the East but highly doubtful.

AU should win 8-10 games in the regular season. The boogs really seem OK with that. If they were a championship program they wouldn’t be, but they aren’t. So kilt is a little skrong.

Is Dequan Newkirk healthy? Haven’t heard much about him but I don’t think he’s needed all that much this season. Boogs are pretty legit stacked 8 deep on the DL without him and that doesn’t even include Coynis Miller or Alec Jackson

I actually like the way the OL is turning out. Kaleb Kim is the big ? but everyone else is a seasoned vet and there’s talented depth behind them.

I still think Boobie Whitlow and Kam will be fine too

How do you see the 2 deep?

How do you see the 2 deep?
Marlon
D Brown
D Russ
Moultry/Coe

Coe
A Williams
Truesdale
Big Cat

I thought Williams was really good last year and I guess I just expect Truesdale to keep improving (I think I remember reading about him shedding bad weight etc). And Coe is just an absolute beast. Big Cat and Moultry are really the only two question marks but both are really talented and I'm not worried since Coe's gonna play there too. Throw in Newkrik, Jackson, Coynis Miller and Jibourner and I'm not worried about a potential exodus next season if both Brown and Marlon leave
