Hoping for a rather quick exit here. Let some scrub bubble team take it home while we rest up for the real tourney.
If we make a run, I feel like we have a good draw to do it. Whoever we get in the first game is probably a good matchup for us. aTm is short-handed and Bama is really struggling. The second game against Mizzou/Kentucky will be really tough, but I think we could win against either.

Yeah I’d like 1 win. 2 or 3 wouldn’t hurt my feelings though. I’d like to see Davion and Malik get a lot of mins and if we can get a W late so be it.

Did you see the clip of Bruce talking to Malik after the game? You could tell he was trying to give him some confidence back. Was a pretty coo to thing to see
Got a link to that? Would like to see that. Malik was pretty dejected coming off the court after he should’ve gotten a foul call. Bruce subbed him at the next stoppage, and he seemed pretty unhappy. Really hope we can find him a happy place on the court.

This is the best strategy for sure. Here's hoping Alabama beats A&M and we TANK against them. Gives our gorgeous boys some time to rest up and weakens the tourney field with another sub par club in the mix. No doubt BRUCE has thought this thing through and is several steps ahead.
I really think we all need to rewatch the game yesterday and see how much of a beast Dr. Chuma was yesterday.
I plan on doing it shortly... I had a going away get together for some close friends yesterday - was able to watch the game at the party, but not WATCH the game... and couldn’t really post in the game thread here to keep things calm and insist we had nothing to worry about

I don’t think so at all. Bama is in full blown collapse mode. aTm is down to 7 schools players and can’t really play at any kind of pace. Kentucky is a tough matchup, but we defended them pretty well. Mizzou would be the scariest to me if we saw them in the semis. Their size and shooting plus the home crowd would be ridiculously tough. But we avoid Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi St, who are all more similar to us than anyone on our side. Plus, that side has better shooting teams.
For NCAAT seeding purposes, we need aTm to beat Bama. They’re a Q1 opponent. So a loss to them isn’t detrimental and a win is good for us. A win against them probably solidifies us as a top 10 team in the committee’s eyes.
I think I’d consider playing zone the entire SECT. We know it gave Bama and Kentucky problems. I’d like to see it against aTm to see how it works against a dominant inside game like they have. And Mizzou hasn’t seen it much from us in person. We could really work on it to smooth out the kinks before the NCAAT because I think we will need it there. And it helps keep us out of foul trouble.
Gang, you’re all going to have to pull the boogs through for me. I’m still undecided whether I want to go out early for the rest, or win the tourney just for ****s sake. Either way, I won’t get to watch any of it as I’ll be in Gulfport with the Coast Guard doing patrols out in the gulf and on Ponchartrain.

I was when I was in the Marine Corps. Got out in 2004. Now I’m the Materials Officer for the War Eagle Detechment, Coast Guard Auxiliary University Program at AU. It’s basically the ROTC program for the CG as they don’t have a traditional ROTC program. This weekend is our programmed semester trip to Station Gulfport to take the students out on the water.
Escort them out there and tell them their orders are to survive without you in a communications black out. Then head to a hotel and watch the tourney. Special commendations to any and all who can keep their mouth’s shut.
2-3 zone against A&M. 1-1-3 and they’d destroy us with oops and passes from big to big.
I think the way we played that 1-3-1 against a SCar and matched up out of it would work also. And a lot of times, we’d flatten into a 2-3 when the ball moves to the wing. The high post passing from aTm is what would worry me most about that zone. Hogg is a good passer, Davis is a good passer. Both are mismatches for Harper at the high post.
Valid points, but it’d be a terrible idea only with A&m. Usce bigs aren’t even close to the talent of A&ms. A&m is our matchup nightmare.
A&M would be a dream matchup. They’re so raggedy. I don’t think they could play 2 days in a row. Great RPI. And that would mean Bama is done.
