Yeah, nothing I saw from them worries me much. Maybe they play better in an open-style game, which we will play, because Wisconsin slowed them down and grinded on them, and X wanted none of it. They didn't rebound particularly well, could get sped up pretty easily leading to forced shots and turnovers, and just generally didn't look like they could handle pressure or physicality all that well. None of that seems like good traits to have against our roster. As long as we're hitting some shots and can get into our pressure early, I have a hard time seeing Xavier hanging with us for too long in this game. They just don't looked seasoned or talented enough right now.
Duke plays Eastern Michigan tonight for anyone trying to check them out. EMU tries to slow the game down a lot so won't really be a good representation of what to expect in a game like we will see when we play them though.
Will be interesting to see if they can frustrate those freshmen with that style though. We won't necessarily employ it, but it could give us some intel as to how those young guys react.
on Xavier... they’re a great program, and the roster is talented, but they have very little experience playing together... they lost 5 of their top 7 scorers and of the 8 guys who played against Wisconsin - 3 are grad transfers and 1 is a freshman
they also have a new coach - who was an assistant and has been there a while, but considering the last coach was a Xavier grad, won the Big East, and was a #1 seed last year - and still left for Louisville? then I’m guessing he knew they were due to take quite a step back this year... and now they’re doing all of it with a new coach

I watched the 2nd half of the Duke game last night. They are great. If we have the 3 ball going, watch out.
