*** Boogs v N. Florida ***

Only time I got to see him was the missed breakaway layup where he looked like he tripped over his own feet. I hope he really had some good moments because after that one I thought he had literally lost his talent and athletic ability someone. Like it was surgically removed.
I missed that play because I was watching on my phone and responding to a text from @MattAU05. Just before that play, he had a nice breakaway layup where he got out fast and took a pass close to the basket for the lay in. Late in the game, he was out on several breaks and had a nice assist to Malik. On another, he got his shot blocked.

He certainly has a long ways to go if he is going to help us again. I am really glad we are not relying on him this year because its certainly possible he never puts it back together this year. I do hope he doesn't bail because while minutes are tough to come by this year, we will need him next year.

Tell @MattAU05 he’s neglecting his obligations to the Greg.

The one finish DP had was smooth. He seems to be running the floor well. Maybe I’m watching too closely but he just looks spazzy and not sure of where he’s supposed to be for the most part. Yestederday NF got a few wide open looks when he was out there. Even if it wasn’t his guys it seems he doesn’t know how to rotate and switch and do all the stuff the rest of the squad does.

Bruce gave him a lot of praise for how he’s upping his game in practice though so maybe just repping with the playing team instead of the scouts can get him there.

That assist to Dunbar was pretty damn impressive when you go back and watch it.

That was a really nice pass. Hopefully this layoff will give him time to make some progress and Bruce will figure out ways to get him involved.

It looked like the rest of the team was still trying to figure out when to use DP other than a dish on the break. Hopefully Bruce and the younger Pearl can arrange some covert "scrimmages" with the west georgia penal league so that the HYGs can better incorporate Danjel in the Olé Miss game.

On several half court sets, Danjel was positioned on the wing and the ball was never passed to him despite not having a man close to him. He rotated through backside cuts several times and there was still no look to get him the ball. In a game where we were winning by so much, I would have liked to see Bruce emphasize getting Danjel touches. Even if it wasn't to get him a shot, just rotating the ball through his position and letting him make a pass would have been better than nothing. He is not going to get his feet under him until he has an opportunity to get involved on offense.

I'm pretty low on DP, but this seems very reasonable and correct to me. He's not getting enough time or enough touches for us to expect him to be "back" anytime soon. If that doesn't change in the coming weeks we're going to be in a spot where we pretty much can't count on him this season. I thought he'd see 15-18 minutes vs North Florida to be honest. Bit disappointed both in his total minutes and the fact we haven't found ways to work the ball to/through him more often when he is out there.

It really is puzzling. His offensive upside makes it worth it to make an effort to get him minutes and touches to find out if he can help us this year. Maybe we can boat race Ole Miss, UGA, and TAMU and get him some more minutes in those games. In March it sure would be nice to have him as an option off the bench who could give us an immediate spark on offense.
