Lets go ahead and get this one started. Our premiere OOC matchup @ the CLAM has lost quite a bit of luster with UCONN way down from where they’ve been most of the last couple decades. With Macs status up in the air this one concerns me.

UCONN of course has some talent. I’d heard they had some size but a review of their roster that size is mostly scrubs on their bench. With hundreds of rowdy Boogs in the stands I like our chances here but if Mac can’t go we’ll be razor thin in the front court.

Yes Murray, KY packed their arena on a Tuesday to get a glimpse of our boogs. Meanwhile we'll struggle to be half full at 10-1 with a blueblood in town.
I was planning on going to this game but the wife and daughter (she's a girl) have me now voyaging across the great expanse known as lower Alabama to visit the inlaws in Mobile and allow them their first glimpse of the greatness that is our new baby daughter (she's a girl).

Trying to free up the schedule to make the 3.5+ hour drive down to see Bruce's hulking youngsters but not sure i want to deal with all the holiday traffic, may try to catch the boys up in Knoxville instead on that dern Tuesday game instead.

don’t know shit about UConn but got a bad feeling about this one...

no Mac...
garnering some national attention...
surely UConn still has plenty of talent - how “down” can a blue blood ever really be?...

perfect recipe to lay an egg...

praise be unto BRUCE for having us in a spot where a home loss to UConn would be an unexpected letdown...

and prayers raised to spirits of the tremendous Native American warriors - upon which we have built our arena - that they see fit in their hearts to free the shackles upon AUSTIN and judge our penance as paid, once and for all...

Mac will be playing Saturday according to Bruce. UConn having to play tonight @arizona is big for us. Usually a trap game, but Boogs by 6 in this one.

Hope Mac can return like Bruce expects. If we’re 9 deep, I think we will be ok. Need Mac and Spencer to stay out of foul trouble as long as possible.

Feelings on Wiley returning continue to get worse.

"Hundreds of rowdy Boogs"....boog culture so sad. Auburn and Opelika should be able to fill the stands, not to mention Montgomery and Atlanta for big weekend games.

It really is sad that we can't do better. Of course, in some cases you need a proactive AD that is more concerned with product over $$. In cases like this where students are out and holidays are here, I'd suggest some creative giveaways and simple ways to change tickets around for season ticket holders that won't make it. Surely you can pack the place out if you give enough tickets away, pair it with some kind of event or giveaway to the fans....just take the loss on the P/L sheet so that your program looks good when a UCONN level program visits. Get creative and figure out a way to make it happen. Or you could just sit back, let what happens happen and if 400 people show up you can blame it on weather/holidays or HDTV's.

We have about 14-day window for it to happen IMO. If he’s not going to be eligible by the start of the next semester, I don’t think it’s in his best interest to stay and wait. And I don’t really see that getting done over the holidays.

We should know by the time we open SEC play IMO. They'll either announce that he can come back, that he can come back after X more games or that he's not coming back (of if they announce nothing you can assume this to be the fact).

I would be thinking that I'm on a European roster by NYE if I haven't been assured I'd be looking good in O&B on 1/2/2018.

If we get through OOC play with 1 loss, that would be huge. Get Wiley back and we're really looking good come SEC play. Could actually be the best case scenario... Wiley gets to come back for conference play and he's 100% healthy and well rested. I like that situation if things play out in our favor for once.

There's simply no reason this couldn't have happened over a month ago. Still hating Boog U over here gents. And the NCAA. And the FBI.

Our hoops culture really does suck. The 2% of us that actually care about AU hoops enough to chat about it every day deserve Bruce Pearl. The other 98% of Booglandia does not. They deserve the likes of Tony Barbee because they care about Boog basketball as much as he did.

Is Bryce a go?

He still has another day and a half before we tip. He probably won’t feel the greatest in the world, but I bet he plays.

Watching UConn right now, they’re pretty offensively challenged. I’m curious how successful they will be against our defense and our lack of size inside. That seems to be the best spot for them to exploit.

This score is embarrassing. Warm take we’re better than Zona at full strength.

Dude. Their losses are to Syracuse, Michigan State, Arkansas, and Arizona. All of those teams are really good. They are numbers 5, 8, 13, and 28 in the realtimeRPI. Probably 4 tourney teams. I would hold back with saying they are "way down" this year. Their schedule has been pretty studly.

They aren’t absolutely horrible or anything but they’re way down from National title contender. Unlikely to even be a tourney team.

They aren't a good 3-point shooting team, which means they will probably light it up tomorrow. They have 2-3 really good guards, but their inside presence isn't significant. They are bigger than us, but pretty much everyone we've played this year has been. They're a good team, but they don't scare me like some other teams would.

-11.5 that’s crazy. Did UConn catch AIDS on their flight over from AZ?

That line has to be influenced by their quick turnaround and the long travel to another road venue. We play well at home, but that line is giving us a ton of credit at home.

That line has to be somewhat due to their insane travel. Going all the way to Arizona and then quickly back across to eastern AL is brutal.

Ant is good to go. Bryce has been sick all week, hopefully he will be ready to go. #4 for them is really good. We have to keep him from taking over.
Yeah need Bryce. Suspect he’s tasked with locking up their best player.
