Gonna go ahead and start this bad boy as it looks like KU is all over Northeastern.

Time for the Boogs to get back on track and earn some confidence by obliterating a blue blood by double digis.

They look pretty slow to me. As long as our shots fall and Mac stays the fugg off the court, then I see a sweet sweet sweet 16 in our future.

Legggggoooooo

so with the exception of Kanzass looks like most that teams that advanced have been at that 78-9 mark, so i feel pretty good about that .

I didn’t watch the last part of game today so I’m still feeling good about beating the gayhawks

After being a few hours removed from victory, I’m not too concerned with the end of the game. It certainly wasn’t ideal, but I don’t think we will see a repeat of that in our next game should that situation present itself. I thought the defense, especially the first 10-12 minutes in the second half, was really good. I thought we shot the ball comfortably. And I thought we found multiple ways to score in the second half against some defensive looks that bothered us in the first half.

Looking at some Kansas stats, Dedric Lawson is a big matchup problem. Dotson is going to be a tough defensive assignment. His speed and quickness really showed today. And they get contributions from 9 guys. But they’re really only three deep on the front line. Lawson, McCormack, and Lightfoot are really the only three 4/5 players they have. It looks like they play a lot of 4 guard/1 big sets. They don’t shoot the 3 particularly well. D Lawson and Dotson shoot 37% but no one else is better than 35%.

This is another game where I could see us playing some zone to try to slow down their penetration and Lawson’s impact in the paint.

Lawson's only 6'9" I believe, but plays bigger to me. I'm guessing we rotate a bunch of dudes onto him, but I want to see Chuma get a little stretch on him early. Sometimes Chuma owns these guys that he might be considered too small to guard. I want to see a stretch in the 1st so we know if we can lock him up in the 2nd when required.

Question....did we try to run a basic 2-3 zone for a bit. It looked like for a few possessions (which we were mostly garbage on defensively) we were in a flat 2-3, not our normal 1-1-3. I hated it. Was this just something to throw a new look at them? Maybe our 1-1-3 was just being weird for a few possessions but it definitely was different than what we're used to

Update from Kansas buddy....we are a nightmare matchup for them and he believes they'll be fortunate to be in the game the last 3 minutes. He states that anyone that has really had intense on ball pressure and been willing to jump some lanes had turned them over 18+ times and given them fits. Doesn't feel they defend the 3 very well overall. Said they are okay in a slowed down half court game but its mostly happened when the opponent establishes that style and they've never been able to maintain the discipline to slow it down when the other team wants to run.

His words...."both teams average game and you win by 8. Auburn's best game and it won't even matter if KU plays lights out."

I've watched this man drink himself stupid after KU lost to Bucknell and spend 48 hrs lost in Dallas, not remembering a thing. We spent an entire work day that Monday just trying to find his company car. He'd fit in well here.

This was my first thought as well, but I'm a little torn. Really want Chuma to stay out of foul trouble, but would also love to shut down their stud. Don't want Danjel on him that's for sure. His defense the last minute or so of the game was one of the big reasons we almost lost.

He sounds like a Gregger if you look past the part where we’d have never lost to Bucknell.

I think they lost either in consecutive years to double digit seeds or maybe 2/3 years. My dude was so pissed I think he would have stabbed Bill Self in the throat at that point. But he really knows hoops, as I imaged most KU people do. If we advance and he's made peace with cheering for AU (which he's done in football since I drug him to 2 games in the Cam season) I'll tell him to come check this place out.

Since I’m posting over here a little bit now I gotta give you guys some credit. I think it might’ve been @Harvey Specter

I started calling Okeke “Dr. Chuma” IRL watching games with buddies. They’ve completely run with it and started calling him the Good Doctor. Sometimes The G Doctor. Absolutely hilarious

now you’ve gotta get them on board with Sweet Baby Jared or SBJ

I don’t know him by any other name. Wish it would go mainstream

Bryce saying that Dedric Lawson is “not very athletic” and that his guys are “just as good, maybe better” is less than ideal commentary going into this game, especially about their best player.

Well ole Dedric called Chuma goofy so it’s a wash
