+++++Boogs vs Kentucky Official Elite Eight Game Thread+++++

Want to add that CBS Sports is showing replays of all the Auburn tourney games on Friday. I don't DVR in real time because all the games I DVR'd early in the season we lost and I am too superstitious.
Lol dude we are the exact same! I was at my parents house this weekend and they have a dvr but it didn’t bc everytime I set it up for dad, we lose lol. I will call and tell him to record them and hope he knows how.
But you would think they would have the replays of the games on the app? I would like to go back and watch all of Virginia’s games too.

Btw going over to rupp (I’m baby too but can still read threads) they got a few posters that literally say the same thing over and over when taking about AU...but @kybassfan is the poster I keep seeing pop up the most. I have to assume he’s a child or certifiably insane.

Whoever is Final-Four-2019, well done over at Rupps Rafters

Edit: those guys are psychopaths. Never thought I’d see the day tiger hoops would rustle UK fans so badly
He's probably one of the posters from right here. It seems he created that account purely to troll UK fans. Did you read the opening post of that thread? Classic fly-by post intended to be condescending and flame UK fans. He got what he wanted. :)

I have no problem whatsoever with Auburn basketball. I'll be rooting you guys on in the Final Four and hope you win the title. My sister lives in Auburn and was at Toomers Corner on Sunday night. I hope the Tigers win it all at this point, now that my Cats are done.

But here's something you may not know- though you certainly should- Kentucky fans are very passionate about their basketball. Who knew, right? When the team loses, some take it well but many others take it very poorly. Posters from the team who just beat UK who come by to gloat don't last long. Posters who come just to say "good game" will get some positive reactions but it is inevitable that they will get some ridiculous replies from many UK fans. Some will get banned when they attempt to have a logical exchange with upset and angry fans because they lose their cool. Some will feign offense and shock that any fan would reply with anything other than praise for the team that just beat UK. We know better. Some will fake respectfulness for a bit before their true purpose comes out. And they feel justified because they weren't shown enough respect. That's life, I suppose. They then retreat back to their board and tell their war stories and everyone cheers them on.

Enjoy your team. They got hot at just the right time of year. I hope Chuma Okeke has a full recovery and is back to full health by the fall. He's a very talented player. Good luck and God speed to the Tigers. :)

I am a moderator. It's always tense when a season ends on the board. It's not just rival fans. There is a segment of UK fans who are critical of everything Calipari does and think the sky is falling anytime we don't go to Final Four or win a title. There is a lot of traffic on that particular message board to begin with, so it does add up. But I think I'll be ok. Once we figure out who is staying and who is going, things will calm down a little. :)

Can you tell me why I was banned? I don't remember trolling your board at any point.

Thanks, feel free to stop by more often! Also, is there any way I could get unbant on Rafters?

tell the guy with the goatee that I am kind of sorry for calling him butthurt after he whined about no fouls.

By the way, funny story, a Tennessee fan who I banned from the site used my information to stalk me back to our church's website, where I'm one of the pastors. He left a message on our web-site for me to let me know he knows who I am. The message he left on the site was funny but it made me change the info I have in my profile. How creepy is that?

Not sure. I didn't ban you.
But let me just say, Auburn fans have been tame compared to Tennessee fans after they beat us in Knoxville. I've been moderating on that site for at least 5 years and I've never seen anything like it, not even from UofL or Indiana fans. I would bet there were at least 100 banned in about a 3 day period.

Yeah that’s messed up. The mod on the bunker made a post a while back about bein careful about posting certain things. He couldn’t say, obviously, what it was about but apparently some poster was having some legal issues for something he posted about another person. Ppl are crazy.
I went over to rupp and was shocked at the hypocrisy to how posters over there talked about everyone else and then got super offended at the tiniest slight, real or not, from us. As you can see..we are pretty laid back here. We joke and have fun and are passionate but can be real too. So, I apologize for calling some dude a dick over there the night I got banned. I thought the bunker was crazy but I think rupp has some ppl that go beyond passionate. You have a tough job over there for sure. I will say I think y’all are a bit too quick with the ban hammer but your board, your rules.

That was their biggest win in sports in the last 10 years. Guess they could t handle it.

Well we’re a lot smarter than Vol fans. Have a much better/ more handsome hoops squad. And most importantly we have BRUCE. That’s gotta sting them terribly.

Understandable. I'm sure a forum with as much traffic as RR needs multiple moderators. Would it be possible for you to unban me?

Are you as sensitive in the real world as you are on a message board?
Who you calling sensitive? Haha! I was Sunday night, I will admit. A friend of mine was trying to get a rise out of me, and it worked. He went on and on until I told him to just shut-up. He didn't even watch the game and really didn't care either way who won, but just wanted to aggravate me because he knew my team lost. I told him to just give it a couple days. But then it wouldn't be any fun for him because I'd just let it go. The short answer is no, I am normally very laid back.

Thanks for coming over to discuss! I can't believe the number of folks over there who are mad at Cal and/or think he's underachieving. You guys have understandably high expectations, but there isn't another coach who has had more consistent success over the last 10 years.

I would say that, by percentage, Kentucky likely has the same number of crazies as any other fanbase, but the size of the fanbase makes that fringe number a large group of people, and they are very loud. And I will freely admit that UK fans are very fanatical about men's basketball. And that particular board CatsIllustrated has the largest amount of traffic of any other UK message board on the web. It is not uncommon to have 5000 or more online at once with a good percentage being nonmembers. Right now, mid-afternoon on a Wednesday, there are over 1000 people on that board, only 394 members and 567 guests.

yeah, but those 567 guests are actually just 3 of us from here with 189 different logins, so it’s not quite as impressive as it appears on the surface

I know, and it's like talking to a brick wall when you want to convince them otherwise. Some think a Final Four should be every season and titles should be at least 2 every decade. Now, when people say UK hasn't averaged 2 per decade, they say "but Calipari gets the best players every year- he should have more!" Some can't get over losing that season we went 38-0 before losing to Wisconsin in the Final Four. They blame Calipari for playing Andrew and Aaron Harrison too much in that game and Tyler Ulis and Devin Booker not enough. They get mad when Duke beats us for a recruit (or anyone else for that matter) but then when we get highly ranked players they're angry they don't win it all. If you point out that Duke had 3 of the top 5 players this season but didn't win it, it doesn't faze them. I just don't argue.

Haha yeah. Its hard to imagine how people can't get their heads around the fact the NCAAT is really hard to navigate regardless the level of talent. Having a great team every year as UK does means your consistently in contention, but its insane to think that equals a final 4 in almost every year. Props to you on being able to moderate that board. You are incredibly patient.
