+++++ Furman at Boogs Official Game Thread +++++

lulz, suma y'all may need to go suckle from JG's cAUk...bringing some weakass sAUce to the @GREG

those hacks shouldn’t be allowed to ref an Upward game, much less ever step foot in the Clam again

anyway - prob should’ve lost that one... may have even been a blessing to lose it... but if these youngsters take BRUCE’s 9 days of not-so-gentle disparagement and grow from it, then I’m happy for the dub

Austin the man again... 13 & 12, no turnovers, no foul trouble, played a lot of minutes with Mac in foul trouble and never got tired or slowed down

not gonna win many games with our guards and wings shooting that terribly and turning it over that much... but probably the worst game they’ll have in those categories all year

yeah, need to see the HYGs be more physical and hope the shots start to fall. really think rotating a few more of the young ones in would have helped wear Furman out a lil more. there really wasn't much to lose. I get that Bruce want's his starters to find ways to win but what ev. They got the dub

was that an SEC crew?

no clue... I’ll lean no because AK said he’d never seen 2 of the guys before... probably raging antisemites who knocked out the real refs before the game started and took their place

also, don’t really think there are conference officials in b-ball like there are in football... there are so many games, guys just ref different games across all kinds of conferences in more of a regional coverage

TV Teddy will piss all over a SEC court on Tuesday and a Big East court on Thursday and a ACC court on Saturday any given week

Yeah that crew was awful. Bad reffing aside, we were terrible for long stretches tonight. Good/great teams find ways to beat teams when they are playing poorly though. We did that against USA and we did it again tonight. That experience will pay dividends in tough conference games.

I think we got that test everyone has been talking about... and we still made plays when we had to. Austin Wiley once again played like a grown man.

That was a rust game if I've ever seen one. 9 day breaks SUCK.

We couldn't buy a 3 all night. I thought we played mostly great defensively but the numbers just don't tell that story. I'd love to know how many tough shots they hit where we did everything right and still just conceded a bucket because a couple of their dudes were just making plays. Felt like half the buckets in the 1st half were highly contested and looks we were fine giving them and they just made more than you'll see most teams make.

Samir and JVon both were off most of the game and then made big buckets in crunch time. I'm not sure why we don't have JVon driving more earlier in games, it's weird. We aren't going to win many games where Samir/Purifoy/Okoro combine for 1 for 16 from 3. YUCK.

Kudos to Wiley, who played his ass off, stayed out of foul trouble and eventually just dominated the paint enough on both ends that it wore Furman down and caused them so many issues with fouls that they were in crazy small ball land by OT. And while we joke on FT shooting the fact that he's worked this hard on his FT's and looks so much smoother and now is more reliable from the stripe than our starting PG is pretty damn crazy.

Didn’t really read the entire thread gang but I’m sure y’all nailed all the good takes

I still really like this team. Tenacious. Big Austin was beastly down the stretch and our young boogs made the plays that counted even though we didn’t play / shoot well at all

point guard rotation is an issue IMO. Nothing Bruce and Steven can’t fix though

FLANNY gonna be a player. Needs more minutes

clam was actually pretty damn electric late 2H and in OT, especially for a Thursday 8pm game right before finals

8-0

Austin got called for his first foul with less than five minutes left in regulation.

that is astounding.
