Non Boog specific COLLEGE HOOPS thread

Boogs about to gain some more ground in the imperialism map.

Also saw a stat that the Boogs have played the 3rd hardest schedule too out of all the sec squads. So it's not like it's been some pasty ass trip to the top
Completely overlooked these posts.

Will need an image of the new map.

Wish to note that Michigan plays some of the least handsome ball i've had the misfortune to watch in recent years.

UNC just lost to Wofford at home. Cole Anthony, their start true frosh pg, is out indefinitely. Feel sorry for a fellow blue blood but they're in trouble

Look at Bruce way ahead of the game got us 11 in SOS. SEC is so trash this year but at least a few of these teams up a little higher than I’d have expected.

but but but... the drunken experts on the bunker whipped out their tiny little fan dicks and furiously shook them at anyone who dared cross their path criticizing BRUCE’s scheduling and mercilessly bedowngrading our murderer’s row of a schedule

I’m not complaining, but the whole NET and KenPom have me baffled for sure. We continue to beat solid teams and continue to slide and last I checked there were 3 teams with 3 loses ahead of us.

The NET NC strength of schedule has to have some type of serious flaw, or some calculation that I’m missing. I agree we’ve played a pretty tough schedule full of good mid majors, but I could not argue with a straight face that we are 11 and Kentucky is 279, unless it’s just based only on teams we have already played to date. Kentucky played MSU and Ga Tech and plays Utah, Ohio State and Louisville over the next 3 games. That’s 3 top ranked 10 teams. Thinking now as I type it has to be based on teams played and not the upcoming games.

Our boogs been a little off lately but I put any other game on and it’s horrific. Case in point UT v Cinci. UT is fuggin terrible got two chalks on the court bumbling around. Bunch of other no talent scrubs.
I told you their super honks were hideous. Seems like their starting front court gets in foul trouble faster than Horace and Austin did early in their careers.

Definitely makes you wonder if there is more to the story, or maybe he flunked out or something.

He's gotta pay 11k back or to some charity or something. That's a good start as far as a reason not to come back

Rumors around Memphis that "this is best for both parties" seem to hint that there may be more regarding some cash or benefits that neither party wants to see come up. So that would be a strong contender for a reason to go ahead and start training for draft prep now.

This 100%. Dude that good who’s family was ok with taking the money the first time did not just get 11k in moving expenses. He leaves everyone forgets about it and it’s over.

Wish he would have stayed and some people/NCAA kept digging, so maybe that would be enough smoke to deter JG.

The entire "Penny was his coach who got him to move to Memphis to play for him at another location and then suddenly became a college HC recruiting him" is just bound to have more layers to it than a one time moving expense. I don't know if Penny thought he'd get that job that soon or if he was just trying to build a resume by recruiting HS kids and paying their expenses to move so he could build a powerhouse program that way or what. I'm just not buying that this was the lone thing that happened.

I think Penny is probably lucky that this thing ends with Wiseman just leaving and us never hearing more. Cause if there is much more here they could be looking at some serious issues and that hoops program has been hit a few times in the past....the NCAA seems to not fear them and also looks at them as a bit of a rogue unit.

Some shit audio but the gist seems to be Wiseman Inc is pissed at Penny/ Memphis for even recruiting him when they should have known he’d be ineligible there. Let this be a lesson to other highly coveted croots:

Making a college kid pay back 11k is so stupid. Suspend him for a certain amount of games, kick him out forever, or whatever. But there’s not too many that can scrounge up 11k. Pretty tone deaf move by the NCAA

That's the perception, but I"m not sure it is reality. First of all the idea that these big time college athletes are scraping by to buy a pizza is not the case. They get "cost of attendance" money, stipends and some get other grants as well. On top of that Wiseman isn't some bum college kid working part time to pay his college, he's a guy that is basically guaranteed to be a millionaire in a very short period of time. He has profited from that already. He could very easily get a loan for 11k any time he wants, that's assuming his mother doesn't still have the money that Hardaway gave them.
