Just amazes me how @rivals continues to disrespect Rife. Dropping him 4 more spots in the latest ranking. Slowly but surely working him down to 4* status before it’s all said and done.

Four Top 40 players in the 2021 class will be visiting. Also Scott Henderson (Top 15 player in the 2022 class) will be visiting. I think Bruce is targeting him as the replacement for Sharife.

Jalen Green tried to make it, but can't. Cooper will be filling him in on the visit. Kuminga and Omoruyi can't make it due to they're playing each other Saturday. Auburn in the Final two for each player (Green- AU/Memphis, Kuminga- AU/UK battle, Omoruyi- AU/UK/Rutgers).

Auburn also in the mix for Joshua Christopher (5 star SG in 2020 class). Will visit sometime soon hopefully.

Maybe this Slam Magazine Cover is a sign.

Oh God yes. Been tracking the Josh Christopher child his presumed finalists are garbage. UCLA, Michigan, AZ St, Mizzou. Programs not remotely on par with the Boogs maybe we can make a run at him.

Would be filthy. I don’t want to get greedy though just gimme Jalen and Kuminga and I’ll be fine with however the rest of the class shakes out.

Also, I believe Dylan Cardwell was here this weekend. He’s a PF that plays at McEachern with Rife. Sounds like he’s a backup plan to Omoruyi, but he’s a top 125 player who a lot of people say had good skills and would fit in well with our system. I like what I’ve seen of him. He moves well, has good hands and feet, can catch the ball in traffic, has good explosion, and looks like he has the raw fundamentals to have a good stroke. The shot needs refining, but I think that can be done with some work because it’s decent as is. I’d be pretty happy to land him if Greg Brown or Big Cliff end up going elsewhere.

Edit: and on top of all that, he wants to come here and is willing to wait for a spot should we miss on some higher-on-the-board guys. Give me that dude!

think it has to do with specific players on certain college teams that may or may not leave early. Think I read something about Memphis having some good young guards that could affect hit playing time if they don’t leave early.

let’s talk more about the C position. I’m seeing 4-5 names that routinely come up when talking Boog recruiting. I’m guessing we land one of them. Do you guys think we are waiting on Big Cliff before we make a decision to take K. Sotto? Seems like he is a guy that would choose to be a Boog, but we have not offered for some reason. Is he in the bag as a backup plan? Do you guys like Cliff over him? To me he looks like he has more upside and has a more refined offensive game. Seems like he would be a better fit with Stretch who is a premium defender and rebounder. To me Cliff is like a Stretch clone. Not questioning anything Bruce does just curious.

I think Cliff is Bruce’s ideal big. I think Sotto could be a great offensive big, but Bruce likes bigs that can D up. This is just a guess though.

Gotcha. Memphis is certainly losing their best player in Achinwa. A lot of their other highly touted recruits have been bad this year, but I guess they could still try to go pro. As good as Green is, I would not think playing time would be an issue for him regardless. Let's hope he wants to play with a good PG for a coach that has proven he can consistently reload and put his team in the tourney.

I tend to think Bruce puts an emphasis on defense at the 5. We are always going to guys who can light it up at other positions, but a rim protector who is a great rebounder is essential to having a complete team. Obviously it would be great to have a 5 who is the total package, but if he has the choice between a guy who can play great D and rebound or one who is a good offensive prospect, I would assume he takes the former. What would be ideal, imo, would be to sign a grad transfer 5 who could add some experience to the roster in addition to a HS prospect. If we miss on Cliff, that would make taking Soto a lot easier as we would not need to rely on him next year.
