Pearl visited Brown and Green yesterday. Feels like we are in a good spot with Brown with it being down to AU/Memphis with UT needing to make a spash coaching hire to have a shot. Also feel good about Green, but no one knows for sure if we lead or not.
Just providing the cliffs as requested. Whe I referenced "feel", he said AU feels good about our chances with Green and Brown. His take was that no one really knows who leads for Green and that Brown won't end up at UT without a spash coaching hire. Latter makes sense given that Smart is a dumpster fire.

Made the comment that he has the best relationships with Pearl at AU and Shaka at Texas. Said the only way he goes to Texas is if Shaka is retained. This statement goes against what J-Lee said last week regarding Brown. His sources stated that the only way Brown ends up at Texas is if Shaka is fired and they make a splash hire. J-Lee's sources indicate this being a Memphis/Auburn battle with Texas on the outside looking in.

BROWN: Wes Flanigan. He’s player coach. He cares about players a lot. He tends to mean it a lot more than other college coaches and he’s just fun to be around.

BROWN: It’s really good. He's a players' coach. Relates to his players a lot more than (most) college coaches. It's easy to talk to him. Easy to share stuff with that’s going on. Asking questions about my high school career and everything.
247SPORTS: Your dad said in a recent interview you all feel like you’re at home when you’re in Auburn. How important is that to you in this recruitment?

247SPORTS: What is Pearl’s biggest message to you about why he wants you at Auburn?
BROWN: Just the culture. Change the culture and win.

BROWN: I think I'd fit in really good. They're talking to me about what (former Auburn forward Chuma Okeke, a first-round NBA draft pick) did. They say I’d be a better version than Chuma. And just helping them on the boards. Defensive and offensively.

BROWN: I hear from Sharife a lot. Quite a bit. He just says, ‘G, what’s the move?’ Just basic questions to get me thinking.

BROWN: No, it wouldn’t. We’ve been talking a lot recently, what it would be like to team up together and stuff. But it wouldn’t make a big change in my decision and all.

BROWN: I would say how they win basically. That’s an advantage for them. ‘I want to go to a school where we can win. Because that’s going to put us on the map big time and I just want to win a national championship when I go to college. That's a big goal of mine.

BROWN: We've built a great relationship since junior year. They've been talking to my dad quite a bit and talking to me quite a bit about what's been going on over there, like how can I fit in the system and that type of stuff. We talk pretty often.

BROWN: Yeah, it does because my dream is obviously to go to the NBA. But it's a bigger dream of mine to be a legend and a star in the NBA. And those two have already done it. So it would be a mentorship on how to become a pro before I get to the pros.
247SPORTS: On visits to Memphis, what has stood out most to you?
BROWN: Just the environment, the campus, how active the students are into sports.

Dang that sounds pretty good for the boogs but Texas has won 5 straight. Think they’re on the bubble now. Not sure if that makes any diff been rumors they are pretty set on canning Shaka.
Some interesting info on Kuminga, which I think most probably know/knew. And I asked the Sanogo question because there has been some talk that he could possibly follow Kuminga.
Had no idea LSU was in on him. Thought it was a done deal that it was us or UK. Fvcking will wade.
I think his brother plays at Texas Tech too. So I wouldn't count them out yet either. But I don't buy the UK angle if he reclasses because their class is already quite large and includes signed/committed players at his position.
The biggest thing about us signing Kuminga is him wanting to wait until after EYBL to choose a school. I think we'd like to hold a spot for him, but I'm not sure we will have that luxury. We have a bunch of needs for the roster next year and only a few spots left.
It will be interesting to see how much attrition we have.
Agreed. The first two that come to mind are Turbo and Franklin, but a couple guys on the bunker kinda mentioned that Cambridge wasn't happy with his role. I think that was mainly when Okoro was out and Flanigan was starting. Don't know what that was all about, but hopefully it gets sorted out. I think Cambridge could be a big help to us next year.
Having said that, we're targeting several incoming players that likely would start over all of the returning roster guys next year. That's going to be something for Bruce to navigate.
Rupp is saying Cliff Omoruyi was set to commit to ASU but got some news over the weekend about possible NCAA issues and is now reaching out to UK. If they're right, Big Cliff's recruitment may not be over.
