I like how Auburn has told these reporters to pound sand on wanting to know if weve received a NOA.
Pearl visited Brown and Green yesterday. Feels like we are in a good spot with Brown with it being down to AU/Memphis with UT needing to make a spash coaching hire to have a shot. Also feel good about Green, but no one knows for sure if we lead or not.Someone paraphrase the hoops scoops on the bunker

Just providing the cliffs as requested. Whe I referenced "feel", he said AU feels good about our chances with Green and Brown. His take was that no one really knows who leads for Green and that Brown won't end up at UT without a spash coaching hire. Latter makes sense given that Smart is a dumpster fire.Jeffery has no idea what’s going on in basketball recruiting

I never listen to the rundown.Have you ever listened to him talk about it on the Rundown? Dude just reads what everyone else is saying and gives cliffs.
I haven't listened to a minute of the stooges blathering on about bullshit that that could've written a column that would've explained it better. It's lazy and narcissistic.I never listen to the rundown.

Corey is rustling my jimmies. I need to be told young Jalen is coming to my hometown to ball. I need it.
interesting. Guess he could be talking about Jaylin Williams, but context I guess favors Jalen GreenSorry if already posted and if too long
Last Wednesday there was a booster or alumni dinner at Baumhowers. All the coaches were supposed to be there but decided to go on a last minute 5 star teen tour so Bruce told Chad and Anfernee to go speak
Mack was taking questions and someone asked how he saw the future of the program with so many seniors leaving blah blah blah
Anfernee, without hesitation and if it was common knowledge says something like
“Honestly I don’t even know if I’d make the team next year with Jalen and Sharife and who all they are bringing in. The future is very bright”
Everyone got real quiet and was like “did he really just say that”
This got posted on TBB and was deleted almost immediately.
Gonna be a fun couple months gang. March madness and late signing period!!
As long as it remains the “J” Team, we gonna be just dandy.interesting. Guess he could be talking about Jaylin Williams, but context I guess favors Jalen Green
Was hoping someone else could. I’m not a member thereCliffs?
Made the comment that he has the best relationships with Pearl at AU and Shaka at Texas. Said the only way he goes to Texas is if Shaka is retained. This statement goes against what J-Lee said last week regarding Brown. His sources stated that the only way Brown ends up at Texas is if Shaka is fired and they make a splash hire. J-Lee's sources indicate this being a Memphis/Auburn battle with Texas on the outside looking in.Was hoping someone else could. I’m not a member there
Interesting. Would love both but I’ll still count it as a win if we split Green and Brown with MemphisMade the comment that he has the best relationships with Pearl at AU and Shaka at Texas. Cliffs?
Guess we better hope and pray Texas nosedives. Thanks for the article Duf!For touted basketball recruit Greg Brown, it is just about crunch time. The late signing period for college hoops begins April 15 and Brown, a 5-star power-forward from Austin (Texas) Vandegrift and the country's No. 9 overall recruit in the industry generated 247Sports Composite, will have a commitment decision in the very near future.
The 6-feet-9, 195-pound Brown, who officially visited Auburn last November during Iron Bowl weekend, not only is one of the top uncommitted players left in 2020, he's a huge Tigers target as coach Bruce Pearland his staff look to add the finishing touches to a 2020 class that already includes one 5-star signee -- point guard Sharife Cooper.
Brown has a final five of Auburn, Kentucky, Memphis, Michigan and Texas. The 247Sports Crystal Ball favors the hometown Longhorns, but there also has been plenty of buzz with Memphis and Auburn. Michigan seems to be surging some and Kentucky is, well, Kentucky.
247Sports caught up with Brown on Monday. Here, he goes in-depth about his recruitment ...
247SPORTS: First and foremost, have you set a commitment date and if not, what kind of timeframe are you working with right now to make a commitment?
BROWN: No, me and my dad just said sometime in April — late April.
247SPORTS: At last check, you had a final five of Auburn, Kentucky, Memphis, Michigan and Texas. Is there anyone else that could get into the mix?
BROWN: Not really. I think that’s the only schools I’ve been talking to recently.
247SPORTS: Who is your lead recruiter from Auburn and what do you think of him?
BROWN: Wes Flanigan. He’s player coach. He cares about players a lot. He tends to mean it a lot more than other college coaches and he’s just fun to be around.
247SPORTS: Auburn’s Bruce Pearl was by your school last week — what type of relationship do you have with him?
BROWN: It’s really good. He's a players' coach. Relates to his players a lot more than (most) college coaches. It's easy to talk to him. Easy to share stuff with that’s going on. Asking questions about my high school career and everything.
247SPORTS: Your dad said in a recent interview you all feel like you’re at home when you’re in Auburn. How important is that to you in this recruitment?
BROWN: It is important. Gonna be living there for like the next eight months getting prepared for the league. I just want to make sure I’m going to be good away from my family.
247SPORTS: What is Pearl’s biggest message to you about why he wants you at Auburn?
BROWN: Just the culture. Change the culture and win.
247SPORTS: With the Auburn program, how well would you fit in and why? Why could you bring to that program?
BROWN: I think I'd fit in really good. They're talking to me about what (former Auburn forward Chuma Okeke, a first-round NBA draft pick) did. They say I’d be a better version than Chuma. And just helping them on the boards. Defensive and offensively.
247SPORTS: How much do you hear from Auburn signee Sharife Cooper — and what does he say to you about Auburn?
BROWN: I hear from Sharife a lot. Quite a bit. He just says, ‘G, what’s the move?’ Just basic questions to get me thinking.
247SPORTS: Auburn also is in the running with 5-star guard Jalen Green. Will Jalen’s decision have any impact on your decision?
BROWN: No, it wouldn’t. We’ve been talking a lot recently, what it would be like to team up together and stuff. But it wouldn’t make a big change in my decision and all.
247SPORTS: What would you say is the one thing Auburn has working most in its favor?
BROWN: I would say how they win basically. That’s an advantage for them. ‘I want to go to a school where we can win. Because that’s going to put us on the map big time and I just want to win a national championship when I go to college. That's a big goal of mine.
247SPORTS: Memphis is another team people talk about a lot with regards to your recruitment. What kind of relationship have you built with Penny Hardaway and Mike Miller?
BROWN: We've built a great relationship since junior year. They've been talking to my dad quite a bit and talking to me quite a bit about what's been going on over there, like how can I fit in the system and that type of stuff. We talk pretty often.
247SPORTS: Does it have much impact on you that those two guys had so much success as NBA players?
BROWN: Yeah, it does because my dream is obviously to go to the NBA. But it's a bigger dream of mine to be a legend and a star in the NBA. And those two have already done it. So it would be a mentorship on how to become a pro before I get to the pros.
247SPORTS: On visits to Memphis, what has stood out most to you?
BROWN: Just the environment, the campus, how active the students are into sports.
247SPORTS: What would you say is the one thing you like most about that program?
BROWN: The coaching staff and just the environment around Memphis.
247SPORTS: What has Kentucky among your top schools?
BROWN: It's a good school. They've dropped a lot of pros there. A lot of pros that have made a lot of money went to Kentucky. That kind of stands out to me.
247SPORTS: What is Kentucky coach John Calipari like when it's just you and him talking one-on-one?
BROWN: He's very straight-forward. He gives it to me straight and just tells me my role there and how I'd impact the school.
247SPORTS: What is the 'Cats' main message to you?
BROWN: If you come here, we'll train you to be a pro before you get there. And we'll give you all the tools you need to be successful.
247SPORTS: How close are you with Texas coach Shaka Smart?
BROWN: We're real close. I used to go up to UT a lot my junior year just to talk to Coach Smart. Just catch up with the team, how they're doing and stuff. This year, I'm just trying to level it out, see all the options and what they have.
247SPORTS: What is Coach Smart's biggest message to you about Texas?
BROWN: If you come here, you'll be one of the greats.
247SPORTS: How much is his job security a factor with you?
BROWN: Yeah, it's a big thing. Because if Shaka keeps his job, I'll most likely be going there.
247SPORTS: When you think about Michigan, what is the most appealing thing about that program?
BROWN: Coach (Juwan) Howard -- how he's a players' coach. And he just knows his players, what they do best, and cares about them on and off the court.
247SPORTS: What did your official visit to that program in February do for the Wolverines?
BROWN: It put them up there. It was a real good visit. Real informative. The players were just very welcoming. It just felt like another home.
247SPORTS: Among all the head coaches or assistants recruiting you, which one or two would you say you’re the closest with?
BROWN: I'd probably say Bruce Pearl and Coach Smart because I talk to them most out of all of them.
247SPORTS: When it’s time to make your final decision, what will be the biggest factors?
BROWN: Relationships -- and role on the team.
Gotta think we land one of those studs.Interesting. Would love both but I’ll still count it as a win if we split Green and Brown with Memphis
Corey
1- Do you still feel he will reclass to 2020?
2- Where do you think he will land?
I've read where you said if he does reclassify it wouldn't be until August and I'm guessing that is two fold. To complete the necessary academics to graduate from HS and to play in the summer events.
I do believe that he will reclassify into the 2020 class and, as you had stated, believe that will come further down the line. I know that playing on the travel circuit is fairly important to him so I would be surprised if he goes against such plans and wishes and reclassifies and commits before completing the summer.
As far as where he may land, that is the primary question at hand. Auburn and LSU are the two top spots right now, along with Texas Tech, but it is never an easy thing to entirely denounce Duke or Kentucky from the hunt.
Do you see Kuminga’s teammate Adama Sanogo reclassifying as well? Would his timetable be similar?
Yes to both.
Had no idea LSU was in on him. Thought it was a done deal that it was us or UK. Fvcking will wade. Some interesting info on Kuminga, which I think most probably know/knew. And I asked the Sanogo question because there has been some talk that he could possibly follow Kuminga.

I think his brother plays at Texas Tech too. So I wouldn't count them out yet either. But I don't buy the UK angle if he reclasses because their class is already quite large and includes signed/committed players at his position.
The biggest thing about us signing Kuminga is him wanting to wait until after EYBL to choose a school. I think we'd like to hold a spot for him, but I'm not sure we will have that luxury. We have a bunch of needs for the roster next year and only a few spots left.
It will be interesting to see how much attrition we have.
Rupp is saying Cliff Omoruyi was set to commit to ASU but got some news over the weekend about possible NCAA issues and is now reaching out to UK. If they're right, Big Cliff's recruitment may not be over.

Interesting. Was wondering why the boogs hadn’t really been in the mix on a stud from our home state of GA. Top 3 isn’t that great I mean Kanas is ok but who the hell would pick Kansas over the Boogs?
