Still don’t love our chances here but then again never heard of the other 2. May not even be real schools.
Thought if he visited again, we’d land him. But he didn’t visit again and has visited the other two recently. My guess is Rutgers. Figured he would’ve already committed to ASU if that was the pick. He got back from that visit and had time for the hometown team to get to him.
yea I figured we had fallen down the list, but given he had a recent change of heart and did not commit to ASU means he is thinking hard about something. It just amazes me that this is the list of kids that have us on their final list of schools. At some point these kids have to feel like it’s going to be first come first served. Not sure how you could turn any of them away waiting on any of the others. Maybe you wait on Green, Brown and Kuminga. I’m picturing a Green, Brown and Cliff O, or Green, Kuminga and Sanogo combination. Maybe Smith stays in 2021 and we get him next year. Regardless, its almost too much excitement to process. Truly amazing what we have become!

Honestly, I’m fine with that. GB wants to play a position I don’t think would suit him here, and I think there would be issues about that all season. Of all the kids were recruiting right now, his dad seems the most helicopter-like. Kinda reminds me of Staph’s dad a little bit, although Mr. Brown seems more outspoken.

I’ve written off Cliff for months... if BRUCE pulls it off it’s going to be damn near impossible for me to reign in my expectations for Jalen and whatever dominos fall after that
Not very. He’s a bit of a honk. Would probably be in the know with the optimistic viewpoint of the corching staff but not necessarily the reality of the sitch. We’d have already landed BJ Boston and that 5* super chalk if you went by his info. That being said I’ll still get my hopes up based off his comments.

I'm really tempering my expectations with Kuminga. Just seems awfully difficult for us, a school who hasn't yet established elite depth, to wait until August to find out if he will commit to us. IMO we would have to pass on too many other options that could help us in hopes of landing him and could be in a really tough spot if he didn't pick us. We have some depth at his position and his spot, if he didn't choose us, would likely go to a GT big or backup PG.
But he's almost too good of a talent not to wait on. So I don't know how I'd handle this situation.
Just give me Green and surprise me with anyone else. It'd tickle my twat if we just got him and a grad tranny big man. I'm not gonna go down the hype rabbit hole thinking we land all these stud ponies though

I don’t care if it costs us Kuminga and his teammate - give me Jalen, any quality big (high school or transfer) and a backup ball handler/creator and I’m taking my chances
I trust Jaylin and Moore to be ready to help us in the front court next year, so if we whiff on Brown, Cliff, Kuminga, Makur, so be it... I want Jalen and nothing else matters

It's a completely different process that they are in where they cannot appeal rulings or sanctions. If this committee decides that Memphis is at fault (they are) and if they decide that a post season ban is necessary, there is nothing Memphis can do about it but take the punishment. Got to think this is a gamble for Jalen Green if he is interested in playing in the NCAAT.

News is not great for Memphis. Who knows what'll come of this but hopefully it's enough black cloud to set young Jalen's mind at ease about choosing the boogs.

after that performance I’m gonna go ahead and start prepping the sacrifices for Jalen and Cliff and Brown and Kuminga and Sonogo and a transfer point guard and a transfer big man and if have to sacrifice a couple of current HYG’s to make it happen well I promise to always speak highly of them and remember the fun we had this year as they paved the way for the HYG’s to come
I just look forward at this point to getting back to fun Bruce Ball. The way we've had to play with this particular team, where everything needs t be built around Wiley because we really don't have enough scoring any other way....it's not very Bruce-like. If I'm being honest it's not attractive basketball really. We've kinda been winning by mucking games up and I don't love it. I need a Malik figure in my team. I need shooters who go on hot streaks and take stupid 3's and make them. I need a Horace Spencer who is a spaz but runs the court and dunks and blocks stuff.
I’m really trying to be positive about next year, but I’m just not in love with the pieces we’re bringing back.. If we miss on the rest of our major targets and end up settling for our backup plans, next year may be a little rough patch. I don’t believe Coop will be good enough out the gate for us to solely rely on him to make plays/score.
No offense to the current senior class but I am ready for some new faces. They are extremely frustrating to watch.

For sure. Jalen and Rife immediately make us a sweet 16 team at the worst. Couple them with a GT center and I like what we’re looking at. But if we whiff hard on all our top targets I’ll be disappointed and a bit worried about ability to score. We’ll have to shop hard on the grad market for some guard play.

Per 247 JT Thor enjoyed the visit last night and loves how we need frontcourt help next year. The Boogs also pulled a fast one and got a secret visit from him last week for the Ole Miss game. Looks like we’re a legit contender

Its not like we were expecting any more visits this year besides maybe the Thor kid. They can still talk to the kids all they want.
