Exactly what I said. I honestly think I’d rather see AF go over him, but at least Flanny will play some D. Oh well. We’re in on so many big time recruits I feel like we’re gonna’ be okay regardless of the attrition we have.
And we also have the forgotten man Jvon Franklin just chilling on the bench. I don’t know what to expect from him but he’s just another long bouncy dude that plays the same position. So who knows

You'd think we'd loose one to attrition. It happens most every year. I'd totally forgotten about Franklin being on the team.

I don’t really see him being with the team next year. Especially if some of these studs start pulling the trigger to AU and we need a little room. I imagine him or JJ will be the first on the chopping block.

I'd be shocked if franklin leaves gang. Unless you guys are suggesting that he'd be "processed." He was a juco dude so it's not like he is a true frosh. And he arrived on campus still rehabbing from a pretty serious Mac-like injury. He knew he was gonna be basically redshirted. So it's not like he can be pouty about anything. And frankly, unlike D Cam or JJ, he has zero film out there of him playing D1 hoops. So it's not like there'd be a big line of suitors for him even if he was jonesing to go.

I’m thinking there’s a way to tactfully let the child know if he’s not boog caliber and line him up a scholly at like an Arkansas Little Rock or South Alabama. Obviously these children dream of playing under the bright lights of the Clam but if it’s not gonna happen seems they generally want to be somewhere they can play.

Would hate to push someone out the door but if we need a spot for a 5* HYG thems the breaks. Probably all work itself out anyway.

you're probably right. I just think he knew and Bruce both knew that he was a two year plan kind of player. There's no way that he committed thinking he was gonna play this year coming off that injury and missing summer practice.

Stretch and grad transfer TBD... I guess Cliff would be ideal, we’d have 40 minutes of defending, rebounding, shotblocking, and bleeding on the court (for Denim) - but I worry a tad about both being relatively unpolished offensively

you’d think with Sharife, Jalen, and Jimmy Chitwood scoring won’t be as much of an issue - but I’d be ok with a more veteran guy essentially ring-chasing to come Boog for a year

scratch all that if Kuminga reclassifies... give me Cliff or any other guy who is physically ready to bang and defend and doesn’t need or want the ball at all

Ran across this looking for highlights of Cliff the other day. I’d seen him take very few shots in the highlight videos. Most were warm-up FTs and then nothing but dunks and blocks. But this video kinda confirmed what I’d seen in the very few shots were on his highlights. He has a really good stroke for his size and has potential to develop this into a serious weapon IMO. That film makes him my favorite big in this class because, compared to some of the others, I think he possesses some Horace in him but with much more offensive upside. We need a new Horace badly next year, and if we can get that hustle guy who can actually knock down a shot or two when given to him, that’s a huge plus IMO.

Makes me a little nervous we are becoming the heavy favorites for Green with a month or more until he is likely to commit.

I think Franklin, Johnson and one surprise leave. Sounds like it might be Cambridge, but consider me one who doesn't want to lose him.

Air Cambridge is giving me bad vibes here lately. I can't tell if it's frustration or what but something is off with him.

Keith said in the follow up post that Jalen is paying close attention to the NCAA investigation. Playing in the NCAAT is a big deal to him and our potential punishment will factor into his decision.

We getting a letter?

Almost guaranteed we will get a letter. The hope is we did more than enough on the front end from a prevention standpoint and from a punishment standpoint once the allegations came out that it won’t be anything significant. Hooks also said if the NCAA tries to go overboard with us that we’re prepared to fight on this.

why would he be frustrated? Dude plays a lot.

Not sure. He will try to make a hustle play and not get it and just look totally defeated. Or he will run on a fast break and make an approach for an oop and when it's not thrown kinda do the same. I think his scoring inconsistencies have maybe got in his head a little. When cold (4 of 5 games lol) I think he gets frustrated that he isn't able to use his superior athleticism to produce in other ways. Not sure what all he did in high school but I imagine he was draggin his nutz across defenses as he was tearing down rims and swatting shots on the reg. Having a hot shooting night on top of that was just icing on the cake.

welcome to major conference college basketball kid.

I can't imagine how they could justify a postseason ban for us given there is no allegation we paid any recruit and we sat the players as soon as their eligibility was in question until they served a lengthy suspension handed down by the NCAA. If we got a 1 year postseason ban, they'd have to ban LSU for a decade to make it have any semblance of equity.

They don’t operate with any semblance of equality though, which is what is most scary to me.

Apparently word on Boog campus is that they think Jalen is a silent commit. Doubt they really know but proud of campus for being dialed in
doubt the campus knows anything. But all those crystal balls in the past two days would suggest that some silent news got out or something.

and for any of the boners worried au receiving a letter, then you gotta think our main competition for his signature, memphis, is gonna get something too. They just got caught doing something much worse and then tried to stick their middle finger in the ncaa's nose.

The main concern I’ve had is no one ever really clarified the deal with Frankie Sullivan and the other guy who got suspended and never heard from again. Something happened there that we don’t know the full story on. Maybe they were bagmen, who knows.

but we definitely punished ourselves more than most, if not all, of the other schools involved

They are certainly not fair, butt they don't seem to hammer the schools with competent compliance departments and law firms working on their behalf though. It appears we have handled this as well as we possibly could and we have done nothing to antagonize the NCAA. With no allegation for buying recruits, I don't see why they would hammer us.

My stars that Cliff vid is incredible. WANT

Are any of these 2021 HYGs potential reclass to 2020 other than Kuminga?

As far as the NCAA stuff it would be so boog u to get a letter next month and it cost us the #1 HYG in the country. Seems late for something to possibly effect next season though. I think we could get out of a postseason ban but suspect a scholly could be in play or some other stuff. Feel good about Boogville protecting Bruce at least.

Kuminga's teammate, Sonogo, is a 5* center who may also reclassify. JLee indicated they could be a package deal.

IIRC, the indication afterward was the issue with Sullivan was minor and discovered when they were looking into the Person stuff, but he was told to kick rocks out of an abundance of caution.

Jalen's most routine dunks are highlight-reel material. Kid is a showman.

For you guys who are on Instagram y’all are missing out if you don’t follow HS_Slam. They have daily highlight videos from the games of most of the high profile recruits. Jalen and Rife are weekly contributors. the Unicorn is something special. If he continues to perfect his 3pt shot he will be unstoppable. His bounce and quickness are ultra elite. He has some dunks on there that posterize some poor honks.

TiptonEdits recently posted a release of a list of top high school players regardless of class. Top 5 below:

Emoni Bates
Cade Cunningham
Jon Kuminga
Jalen Green
Evan Mobley

Greg Brown is 17 and Rife is 41. He posted and edit of Jalen and Rife in Boog jerseys. It was interesting because he commented Wow this might really happen. some of the other recruiting Instagram pages commented that it was going to happen and it should not be a surprise anymore. This is getting too real!

I’m going to bust. Keep going

The consensus continues to build. I’d like to know what prompted all the national guys to project Green to AU suddenly.
