******Official Boog Recruiting Thread******

so i guess our men's football coaches will never learn
they offered
2020 QB Jack Miller from AZ
why recruit prostyle QBs if you don't have the schemes and o-line to protect those players?

This is what scares me about Lindsey. This is the type of QB he would typically recruit. I keep worrying we are going to go Stidham to Nix and never get back to dual threat studs.

Chip Lindsey in his heart of hearts is a Tony Franklin offense disciple. His ties to the Franklin offense go pretty deep. At the same time if you truly want Gus to be out of the offense then I'm not sure what you do about it.

This is the fear with Lindsey. He'll recruit 'his type' and then he'll be gone in two years and we're stuck with more stiffs at QB.

As @CowardlyToaster has pointed out before, I don't mind Gus being in the offense when he sticks with what works for him, i.e. stud athletes at QB. It's when he tries to prove that he's some QB guru when he looks like an idiot

This is easily my hottest take:

I'd rather have Gus running our offense with an elite dual threat QB than Chip running it with an elite pro-style QB.

RPO's were a natural progression for any spread offense. Gus needs this, as well as the addition of a few improvements to the passing game, BUT I think we desperately need to get back to 11 on 11 football.

Deets for those of us who unsubscribed from the lunatic board please.
Just mentioning the first people Auburn called when they could contact juniors. Article was from June 15, 2017. Called around midnight to the following:

PG Kira Lewis
PG Ashton Hagans
SG Josh Nickleberry
F Christian Brown
F Jaylin Williams
PG Jalen Lecque
F Omar Payne

I think 90% of college programs would rather have the elite dual threat over the elite pro-style QB. They're easier to play with, given the minimal amount of coaching you can have and require of them.

Recruiting services still rank the pro-style QBs as high because they don't like answering the bell when the pro styles get drafted higher than dual threats.

Gang, y'all have got to quit perpetuating the myth that Gus needs to be in anyway associated with Auburn. Even if he took the offense back over he's still dependent on the subpar recruiting that he's been responsible for to block and run. He is not a leader nor a program manager, at least not at the level Auburn needs.

Are you wrong? Almost certainly not. Can I give up hope? Unfortunately no. Such is the life of a boog.

Why couldn't we have let Gus walk like we did Hand. Also, lol @ TX. From TOOS

3 year guaranteed deal at Texas making 640K a season. He made 420K at Auburn the past two seasons and had agreed to a new deal in January for 450K.

Winning the West 2 times in 5 years during the peak of the Saban era is pretty good. The years in between blew but Gus isn’t as terrible as some think.

I’d like to think that we’ll be even better too going forward now that the qb situation is under control

This is my hope as well. QB is really important when you're a spread team, even if your main focus is running the ball. That being said, he continues to let me down in recruiting.

4 losses a season on average, 1-4 on bowl games (we won in Birmingham though!), recruiting is getting worse, and the offensive coaching staff is a joke. He's as average of a HC as it comes.

Come home Asthon! Maybe he come down with his stud teammates this weekend.

With only Staph as a potential to leave and Samir coming in not sure where he'd get minutes...not to mention he'll have to cut that hair

Replacing the big shoes left behind by #KeimTime iyam. Bruce will make room. And I'm 99% confident that Danjel aint coming back.

@Harvey Specter, your boy @FIG-JAM replied to me in a thread on tbb saying that he knew something about DP transferring to NCST. Just more non-sense by Fig or does he actually know something?

I don’t believe it to be nonsense
