******Official Boog Recruiting Thread******

Cook thought Queen was a runner as well. I saw him at Hoover and knew that fat pimpled face fvcktard would be a bust.

Yes, I thought he was capable of running. Never said he was a burner in the slightest, but a guy who could run the ball well enough to be an asset

I mean, you can't make this stuff up.

Offensively we scored more points against SEC opponents with Stidham than we did under Marshall and Cam FYI. We also played a weaker schedule in 2010 and 2013 than we did in 2017.

If you had to pick just one to be our starting QB next year (assume we are discussing both coming off their 1st year at Auburn), who you taking?

Stidham, RPO is the next big thing in CFB and Stidham is very good in that area. Back in 2010-2013 Gus's offense was "new" and DC didn't know how to stop it, now they do.

Edit: this is all assuming we continue to run Chip Lindsey's offense and he continues to evolve with the changes in CFB offensively.

Dude, just stop. You just chose Jarrett Stidham over arguably the most dominant QB to ever play the college game, and certainly the most dominant QB to ever play here at Auburn. That is indefensible.

We have our "Cam 2.0" in Gatewood, have a feeling that he won't turn out as well as Stidham, but we'll see. You just have to look at the evolution of CFB now as compared to 2010-2013. I love me some Cam, but he played in a system that was so new and no DC knew really how to stop the ZR/PR and HUNH offenses. Now so many teams run that similar offense and DC know exactly how to defend against it.

Edit: as for Nick Marshall, him and Jalen Hurts are VERY similar in their abilities, but look how good defenses were able to shut Hurts down forcing him to make throws and containing him the pocket.

For clarity, this is kinda like an MJ vs. Lebron comparison. 7 years is a long time in CFB and things have changed so much since then. I personally do not think Cam would actually have the same success he had in this current CFB landscape that he did in 2010. The Baker Mayfield type QB is the big thing in CFB right now...back then you had Tebow, Cam, Manziel, etc. There's a reason why very few DT QB's have success in today's game.(see Lamar Jackson against elite defenses, and no I'm not saying Cam and Jackson are the same) But hey I guess I'm an idiot for taking into account the evolution of CFB and the current offense we run now compared to 2010.

I love when Rice tries to give people nicknames and they never stick. He tried to call someone CNN because he thought they were always lying or something. He had some others and they're always so cringy and corny. Guess you're now Mr. Wordsmith and that doesn't even make sense

Oh boy. He did it again today and it has been gold:

And this is why I gave you the name Mr. Wordsmith.

The definition of a wordsmith is “a skilled user of words”. Are you trying to compliment cookie, because within the context of how you use the term it seems you are trying to insult him. This question is just for my own clarification.

And here we go again, I made up the damn term, I can choose how it's implied. FFS guys, it's a message board.

The word is in the Webster dictionary. Please tell me how you made it up.

This is one of my favorite RPOs. The first clip is the throw read, if the end crashes in you throw the swing. The 2nd clip was from later in the game where the end played the swing instead.

Lol. Any Auburn fan that would rather have ANY player in Auburn history, including Bo MF’ing Jackson, over the CAM on our current team just isn’t worth having a conversation with.

Our 2017 squad is the GOAT CFB team if Cam Newton is our QB.

Not a single game we played would’ve been close.

Also lol @ “see Lamar Jackson against elite defenses”.

Against the 2016 national champion Clemson Tigers, LJ had 457 total yards and 3 TDs. Would’ve beaten Clemson if his dumbass WR hadn’t amazingly run out of bounds on 4th down in the redzone when he had an open lane to goal line for the game-winning score.

But he did have one bad game that season against LSU in the bowl, so that totally proves ricederp’s point.

Not to break up the Bruce fest, but how well of a job has Kodi Burns done as a recruiter? Dude has been getting serious talent on campus.

He was a mediocre hire that had a mediocre history recruiting, BUT he has done a really good job lately and I will happily eat crow if he keeps it up.

I’d say he was a bad hire. Terribly overpaid. He had zero recruiting experience at the Power 5 level. BUT, as you said, he’s doing a good job considering who he has had to recruit for. He’s getting better while his boss has been wallering in mediocrity.

Yeah bad is fair. The only thing that bumped it up to mediocre for me is that he played at AU. Helps build into all that fAUmbly stuff, which I think is silly but some recruits seem to like.

So Boogs just lost a 3 star CB and picked up a 3 star OT all in about an hour. Seems about right

Sounds like this young stud could commit next week as well. Everyone seems to be crootin well on this staff except for, of course, JB Grimes

Here is EXACTLY the conversation would go if you engaged him. He would point out Jackson’s record and how many games he lost. Then you would say it’s a team sport and it’s more than just QB. Then he would say QB is the most important position and should take the blame. Then you blame stidham for our 4 losses sending his head spinning since now he has contradicted himself yet again. At this point he would use semantics and argue a complete different point, moving the goal and call you wrong somehow based on said movement of goal.
It’s how he operates.
