******Official Boog Recruiting Thread******

I love DB as much as everyone else, but our coaching staff is slow playing him right now because they like other backs better. Specifically Noah Cain, MAR, McIntosh, Steele Chambers and a fall back plan of Tahj Gary.

The major name to watch right now is Steele Chambers. Currently a Ohio State commit, Auburn is extremely high on this young man and he could be primed for a flip given everything that’s going on at OSU right now. I generally hate making comparisons on players, but this guy looks like the second coming of Ronnie Brown. Highlights below for those that are unfamiliar with his game:

Sophomore Film

Junior Film

FYI TWill is leading his recruitment and is getting an assist from Butch Thompson as this kid’s also a stud on the diamond as well.

i realize that was j-head's post...not sold on Noah Cain being the answer for our offense but like his teammate that plays mostly at LB, and the Richards kid at the moment.

see this kind of confirms to me why I think this Sandberg guy is gonna be the #2 QB by the end of the camp. Gus already considers him a "veteran" even though he has less CFB QB experience than both Gatewood and Willis

Yeah not looking good for my boy Malik. Everything people are saying about Gatewood doesn’t sound encouraging either

Not sure I can stomach a QB wearing a number in the twenties. I did go back and check his stats and the kid had some very impressive numbers 78/9 with 26 rushing TD’s in his career. Like 36/1 his senior season. I think the odds are pretty good that he will be our starter next year if it’s him against Malik/Gatewood and a Tfrosh. Mentally and physically having 6 or 7 years of life experience gives him a big advantage once he learns the system and gets back in football shape. I kind of think of it like a veteran NFL guy playing against college kids.

Sorry, but an SEC QB wearing a jersey number higher than 19 is about as Bush League as it gets.

Hopefully our professional coaches nip that bullshit in the bud ASAP.

It’s no different than DL wearing single digit numbers.
Lol, compare the % of SEC QBs that have worn numbers >19 to the % of DL that have worn single digits.

I’m guessing it wouldn’t be close. Single digit DL has happened on almost every SEC team in the last 2-3 years I’d bet. You’d be hard-pressed to find a scholarship SEC QB wearing in the 20s or higher...

Shea Patterson comes to mind.

boogs just got a commit from this 2020 recruit

Just like we have an official Boog B-ball thread and Boog game threads, I think it’s time to launch an official Boog recruiting thread where we consolidate all of our thoughts about hulking teens into one place.

I’ll kick it off by saying that the Boog in my heart is concerned about DL recruiting at the moment. If Rodney misses on Coynis Miller, then that’s a massive massive whiff.

I’m also a bit concerned that Greg hasn’t landed a good CB yet. Sounds like he has a few safeties on lockdown but we gonna need CBs soon once Boom and Trob’s boys jump to the League

Obviously Coach Kodi is massively dissapointing on the trail but that goes without saying

Boom!

I'm guessing 2 of Nix, Pappoe, and Pickens become five stars. All of them have received rave reviews this summer.

Thats my guess, with Pickens seeming like he is a lock for one (being in discussion for Top 10 overall).
yeah. Id guess Pickens and Nix are 5 stars for sure. Rivals seems to be hung up on Pappoe's size. But i'd guess that the odds are higher that all three of them get a bump instead of just one

Rivals is the only site that doesn't have Pappoe as a 5 star.

I say at least two , if not three bumped to 5 stars because Farrell stopped by tbb and said tomorrow's R100 update will be an epic day for Auburn fans.

Interesting. I don’t read tbb, so missed that nugget. Thought I read something about Nix not being 5* worthy, yet. Maybe that was before the summer circuit.
