***** Official Boogs at Aggies Game Thread ******

So glad we didn't run KJ almost 30 plays today. Getting the backups some good playing time against a mediocre SEC team will help down the road.

I understand what you are saying but if you are Gus are you thinking more about job security linked to ball security, because I know I am. Kind of the shitty part of having a hot seat coach. He knows that Kerryon will secure the ball and thus secure the win. A win that Gus must have and not to mention the style points needed at that. Gus is short sided for a number of reasons and job security is just another one, if you ask me.

gang - after more reflection and time to cool down, I realize today was a perfect showcase for any Arkansas powers still on the fence about hiring Gus...

I’m choosing to believe the rare emotion Gus showed wasn’t joy from a job well done for dear old Auburn, but rather because he knew he was corching for a chance to be called home come December

now he can once again play not to get blown out against UGA and BAMA... the defense will keep us in both games into the 2nd half... and Arky can sell him as a home run hire

so the game was a success after all

Come on now.. Kerryon is damn good. He is not elite but very good in my opinion.
3.8ypc against FBS teams with a .500 or better record. He's not awful, just not great. A little slow, not that quick, good vision and balance but can't really plant a foot and hit the next level.

We're all aware Gus is more worried about his survival than the good of the program. Nothing new there.

I don’t know how anyone can say Kerryon is not an elite running back.

He is a special player. Wish we could give him the 2013 line to play behind

You'll need to quantify that. I don't see how anyone can say he is anywhere close to elite. The 2013 OL would've made my grandmother look like a very good SEC RB. Too bad Gus didn't keep recruiting OL like that one.

Quantify that how? He’s got the stats and the tape.

He’s an amazing player. Best 3 down running now back we’ve had since Ben Tate and that’s not even close.

Best vision since Kenny Irons. Best hands since Ronning Brown.

There’s a reason he forced his way into the lineup as soon as he stepped on campus

I don’t think he’s better than Mason at all. And I still think you can argue that he’s not even better than Pettway. KJ has turned out some abysmal performances against terrible teams like Missouri and Arkansas this year

471 yards @ 3.8ypc and 5 TD against .500+ FBS teams.
1285 yards @ 6.3ypc and 16 TD against <.500 FBS teams.

Just like Gus, he excels against weak opponents and is average or worse against decent or better teams. Also, he's averaging around 45 carries/game which is utterly stupid on Gus' part.

Tre Mason only ran 317 times in all of 2013. CAP only ran 303 times in 2014. Kerryon has already rushed 372 times this season.

Smoking mirrors, my friend. The Gus Malzahn Error is nothing but smoking mirrors. KJ is Gus. Gus is KJ.

He's definitely not better than Mason and probably not as good as CAP.

Anybody that has watched Kerryon perform in THIS Gus Malzahn offense, and isn’t impressed, has issues. The opponents know exactly what’s coming, minimum 70% of the time. He’s been effective in spite of that. Admitting that he’s good, doesn’t make Rice less retarded.
