Starts tonight.

Gonna be really interesting to see how this season gets paced out and what happens. Gotta think a lot of characters are kind of untouchable as far as dying until the final 2 episodes.

Minor prediction here but don’t know when it’ll happen. Theon and Euron meet for battle on the seas and Theon wins and finally becomes the leader of the iron born. How that works into the plot, idk.

But let’s go baby

*All spoilers welcome here as it's the final season

absolutely. Full on discussion here gents

So I’ve read the books. I can’t remember what has come out in the show vs things I have read, but one thing talked about a lot in the books is the Mad King. He started this shit by burning Ned’s father and brother alive. At some point it comes out that he heard voices and shit. The theory that really hurt me is that Bran is the Night King. Basically that as the Three Eyed Raven he kept going back in time to try and stop all this. Anyway the first part of the theory is that his voice is who drove the Mad King crazy. He is the one who convinces the mad king to keep all the wildfire stuff, probably because it can be used against the army of the dead. Then he was inside the person who became the Night King when he was turned into the Night King and became trapped. The Night King is actually trying to kill Bran to keep all this from happening is a possible extension of this theory.

Yeah. The show has established through the Hodor episode that he can communicate with the past, but this theory seems a little too much to flesh out for the show. Can’t see it happening as they haven’t spent too much time on the Mad King either. I feel like book readers are gonna be disappointed no matter how the show ends

Not necessarily, but I had this hope that maybe he had a different ending for the books. Or some plan to make up for the show getting ahead, but recently he admitted that he shouldn’t have let the show finish before him and I’m @ sad.

I just rewatched all the seasons of the show. Have also listened to all of the books on audible twice. The show is so untethered from the books at this point that I am not sure if there is anyway to predict where it will go other than that there will be twists. Based on last season, John is going to learn he is a Targaryen and the real rightful heir to the throne. How that plays out with him and Dany will be interesting. I would also bet Tyrion and Jamie meet in the north during the fight with the night king. I assume one or both of them will not make it to the end.

The show is pretty great and I am pumped for it, but the books are so much better. I had hoped GRRM would use the buzz from the last season as a good time to release the next book but that appears to not be happening. I am starting to think the theory that he hasn't written anything new in 15+ years may be true and he will never release a new book. There is no way in hell it should take 8 years and counting to release the next book.

Surely the books will differ significantly from the last 2 seasons of the show, assuming they are ever released. GRRM is obsessed with twists so I assume he will not let the books be predictable.

As a book reader, the only way I am disappointed is if that Marcelo looking writer doesn’t finish the books before one final meat pie finishes him off.

Ready for Theon to be over TBH. I don't even want him to have the satisfaction of redemption before he gets got.

Oh yeah baby. A show about a 19th century female landlord sounds amazing. I mean, she twirls a cane. Hell yeah

I'm so confused (and concerned) about how the wrap this up in 5 more episodes. So much to do and it seems like they are setting up more drama, not starting to close things down. Stuffs gonna get wild

Cersei is gonna try to backstab everyone. That's a certainty. Just not sure how or where she fails.

Good episode. Biggest question next week has to be how Dany takes the news that she is not the rightful queen assuming John tells her.

Holy shit, didn't realize there were only 6 episodes this season. Why on earth would HBO make that decision? They spent a fortune on production and you would think they would want to get more out of it than that. There is no way they can adequately wrap everything up in 5 more episodes. Its going to end up being rushed which sucks. You would think they would have stuck with the prior 10 episode arc that worked well in seasons 1-6.

Snow will have to off her. You knew he would ride the dragon. It took 8 years but he finally realized he wasn’t a stark. Shit will hit the fan next week

I thought there were 7 episodes this season but it’s still not 10. But the last three are all gonna be an hour and a half so that’s something.

Anyways, rough five minutes for Sam. Hey your dad and brother are dead then psycho Bran commands him to go tell Jon that he’s banging his aunt. Niiiceee

I’m guessing they win the battle against the White Walkers and then mobilize south to fight Cersei. Only thing that kind of makes sense and only way it sets up a fair fight, the night king has taken out a dragon before so I assume he can do it again. No way Cersei travels north so the fight is gonna have to come to her

That makes sense. With only 5 episodes left, its going to be very rushed however they do it. Not sure why I assumed this was going to be a full season, but I am majorly bummed they shorted it even more than the last.

Feels a bit cheap if all of this setup for the epic fight between the living and the dead just lasts 1-2 episodes and that's it. Cause the fighting hasn't really started yet. They blew a hole in the wall and waltzed through and that was it. Is this gonna be one showdown at Winterfell and that's it?

Something is going on with the Iron Islands too. That didn't get mentioned tonight by accident.
