---------------Official Game Thread: Boogs vs MSU------------------------

Hey gang, it looks like the OT we beat out all the mid-majors for may be getting the start on Saturday.

Serious question: Is Malik Miller so damn bad that we can’t hand it to him 10-12 times? I mean, I know he’s slow AF, but so was Kam Pettway. He just seems like a kid who would at least stick it up in there and get you 3-4 yards...

When he was in the 10th grade he looked like the second coming of Trent Richardson. I really don’t know what happened to him.

Boogs are boarding a bus in the morning and stopping to spend the day and evening in beautiful Tuscaloosa. Then hopping back on the bus Saturday morning for another hour and a half plus to Starkpatch. The perks of playing big time college football are immeasurable!!

Arkansas defense is weird. They have the #5 Rush Defense in the conference and the #3 ranked pass defense but they are 9th in conference play in Scoring Defense, giving up 2 more TD/game on average than AU.

Southern has a top 3 defense overall in the CUSA but is only about 8th or 9th on offense at the moment. Their DL gave our OL fits (even before injuries), and that's deeply troubling.

Poor offense and turnovers giving the opposition great, short field position.

I don't think he's great by any means, but I think he's serviceable for that type of load. Hell, two tacklers fvcking bounced off of him on that 30-yard screen play last week. I think the coaches just get so stuck on a few particulars someone doesn't do well and can't ever see past that. It's pretty ridiculous that more guys don't get opportunities, especially when we have injury issues. The lack of trust while never giving someone a chance to earn that trust is weird.

I’m sure this has already been mentioned, but if you take out AL ST, we are averaging 116 yards rushing per game. If you told me that before the year started, I would’ve assumed we were averaging 325 in the air. Sad.

murph is that you?

Can't believe we're only two days away from this bad boy. Really hope Cal Ashley gets the start this weekend. My boy looked like a real people mover at times against southern miss.

Could significantly improve run game. Concerned about him in the passing game though. They have to get Horton out of there too IMO.

Cannot understand why he isn’t starting. Guess he must rub Gus the wrong way.

Yeah. I just think it's time to throw the most talented guys out there and see if they sink or swim bc the most experienced guys are blowing ass. Let Troxell and Ashley go at it.
Who could’ve possibly thought this was ever a good idea?

Nick Saban?

Oh. Cool.

I want the Baby Briles offense, although I know Gus would never let him run it like he’d want.

Yeah 7 yr/49 mil ended that shit with the quickness. Remember that little read option pass to RD we had a lot of success with last year? Guessing that got thrown out the door (and probably most of Chip’s ideas) as soon as the ink dried on that bad boy...

Averaging less than 3 yards a carry against FBS schools since that bad boy was signed as well, according to some numbers I saw earlier.

Sometimes I wonder if Saban and Smart didn't decide to keep Gus around as long as possible.

I'll take 100 on the no if you are serious. Can venmo or paypal.

100 to win 50 or 2 to win 1? I'll take it but only for you and MITS if he wants it. Any contact on the ball by Peters counts as a block. Must be Peters. No punts in the game by Miss St (lord I hope this doesn't happen) is a cancel. If Peters participates in the game, play is on. If he never participates, cancel. Sound good?

Kinda weird odds. I think a legit site would have it around 20 to 1 that’d he do it

Yeah, probably for one specific player to block a punt, it'd be like that. The no would be pretty ridiculous too. I'm completely spitballing on this as I have no idea what it would actually be and wouldn't want to put something crazy like $2000 at risk for it. Just figured it would be a fun little side deal.

Betting on a specific player to block a punt in a specific game should pay faaarrrrr better than “100 to win 50”.

Should be something along the lines of “20 to win 150”, considering how rare and unique that feat really is.

But the no should also be a lot more costly too, considering the specifics. There wasn't really anything scientific about it. Just a number I threw out.

I will take $200 to win $100 on Peters not getting a block. I can send funds to hold the bet!
