jokes aside, it’s the scariest thing to me for our long term hopes... JVon isn’t going to close out games like Jared - we’ll need Samir and Danjel... or, we can just curbstomp teams and not worry about late game free throws
it's actually really damn impressive that Austin can get 14 and 13 in eighteen minutes when we chuck up 38 threes.
I’ve had the same thoughts about closing out games. Especially come SEC/NCAA tourney time.
I think the free throw percentage will get better throughout the year. Everyone shooting below their avg right now I believe

Love when we just run people to the point of not giving AF about FTs. I’m sure it’s the focus of deep analysis on places of boog across the Internet.
Think we had a new/ slippery ball situation last night only explanation for some bizarre misses. I’ve seen Samir, Danjel, Jvon, Mac either make them at a high clip or in the clutch. Plus when you offensive rebound like we do it’s not as simple as we missed X FTs so we left X pts out there.
Obviously should be better but not too worried. Not much you can do about it rather be doing all the real bball stuff right and be able to say we really need to work on our FTs, breakaway lobs and open gym 3 balls with some fugged up slippery beef jerky logo on it.
The terrible game from New Mexico's stud just reminded of Bruce's quote a couple weeks ago:

Backcourt extremely undersized. Some 6’10 255 neckbeard at C expect Austin to feast.
They do shoot 45% from 3 2nd best in the country. Suspect that’s an early season statistical anomaly. Boogs in a bludgeoning.

Would like to reiterate this is the premier place for Boog hoops discussion among posters. Good lord at some takes I’ve seen elsewhere. Appreciate all y’all do fam
yeah - those 3 guards are all shooting their balls off so far this year... as a team they were only 9/28 against Vandy and 6/17 last night against a bunch of chalky farm boys though
they were 15/30 against CSUN (Sherod was 7/9) - we were 17/35 for comparison
they’re good - not saying otherwise... shooting travels if you can get clean looks... but they’re gonna have to make tougher shots than they’ve ever had to make in their lives tonight - for 40 minutes
I’ll take my chances with Sir Isaac, JVon, and Samir... and the frontcourt matchup is gonna be a bloodbath
