I think a good year this would soothe things over as well. His time at AU has been a crescendo building up to this year where it was finally time to peak, and Chuck may have ruined it. He’s just a little defeated I think, but coming out with a good year would go a long way

I think it's very possible. Bruce isn't happy with some of the internal people at Auburn. With JJ moving on and a new AD coming in, maybe that changes somewhat. Not sure how things could stay the same and Bruce and McGlynn coexist.

Yeah. Just like JGT was best buds with Coach Clint, I think the opposite is true regarding his relationship with Bruce. Jgt seems to enjoy taking shots at him at times and it’s probably bc Bruce thinks jgt is a total loser asshole and doesn’t give him access. Just a guess

I think the deadline came from JJ with the help of McGlynn. I think McGlynn wanted the deposition and tried to leverage Bruce into it.

IMO some shady stuff is/was going down around this investigation McGlynn was leading. Sure I know it's his job, but given the legal nature of the situation, it makes zero sense the way he and the compliance department apparently went about it.

JGT and Myers are far from friends. Myers used him to pump sunshine on the situation for months, til he resigned. JGT got burned.

No matter how good McGlynn is at his job, we should be firing him. He should be doing what is best for Auburn, as long as it is not illegal. We have Louisville fighting and lawyering up on a kid that received 100k to play, and we have our head of compliance trying to stand out for a promotion with the NCAA. We need what is best for Auburn, not Rich.

Yeah why we even need BRUCE involved? FBI already said Chuck was acting alone. Nuff said there. Now get the young studs eligible ASAP. Simple.

Reckless idiotic speculation:

- Bruce's attorneys tell him to not say anything regarding our FBI situation
- JJ doesn't care and instead tries to be overly strict on the bball situation as a last ditch effort to keep his job. Almost a move to show that his admin still has a sense of institutional control.
- McGlynn is happy to go along with this because he knows his future is uncertain with a new AD potentially coming in.
- Some of the PTB (hopefully along with Leath) see through the bull**** and tell JJ to cut this out or they'll get rid of him right then for all the other stuff he's swept under the rug.
- JJ agrees and issues his resignation letter
- Bruce's deadline comes and goes with no issues due to the AD's recent neutering

This is 99.9% likely to be untrue but would give me immense hope for our athletics going forward.

Sounds like Bruce already had some bad blood with this Mcglyn character bc of the Danjel situation two seasons ago. Now Mcglyn is trying to get some revenge and acting like an asshole just for spiteful reasons

McGlynn was the main force behind Danjel having to sit if I remember correctly. There was no hard proof of impropriety with his ACT score, just allegations.

Situation should've ended early with an internal memo stating, "Action Items: Procure less competent test takers for basketball players."

To be fair, the Purifoy situation ended up being the correct one as the NCAA ended up declaring him ineligible.

I'm just sick of this McGlynn dude. I know it’s part of his job description to be a dick but he obviously goes way overboard. Meanwhile the AD let’s stuff like ‘kidnapping’ and ‘sexual misconduct from girls softball coaches’ slip through the cracks. What a disgrace.

The ACT personnel were the reason Purifoy sat. His score increase was to high and they did not accept the results. Auburn had to sit him.

When I say "ACT personnel" they are a separate entity from the University and NCAA.
 
Purifoy could have retook the test and he/coaches/university chose not too.

welp signing day is a dud. Was supposed to be the day EJ officially became a boog. Looks like bama got a couple scrubs. Although I think we were recruiting that big Javian Fleming.

Hopefully he's about as on point with BRUCE as he was with thinking the 2 studs would be eligible last week.

Seems like there's some disagreement on whether or not Bruce should have this sitdown with Rich. I'd like to know why that would be necessary when the FBI has already indicated Chuck was working alone?

He stated on the Rundown that he didn't see Purifoy or Wiley getting cleared if Bruce doesn't talk. Friday could end up being interesting if the rumors are true (of Wiley playing).
