OT: AUBURN BASKETBALL

I think Sharman White will could kill it in ATL recruiting for us. Here's his bio.

Sharman White, one of the most decorated high school coaches in the country, joined Georgia State and the college ranks in April 2016.

Previously White served as head boys basketball coach as well as Athletic Director at Miller Grove High School in Lithonia, Georgia.

In only 10 years of existence, he guided the Wolverines to state championships in seven of his final eight seasons, including a state record six in a row (2009-14), eight “Final Fours” and 8-time region Championships.

After another successful campaign in 2015-2016, which included a Final Four finish in the Dick’s National High School Tournament and a top ten national ranking, White was named the National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) Coach Of The Year.

For his body of work in the 2013-2014 season, White was awarded the USA Today National Coach Of The Year which is one of the highest honors that a coach can receive. During that same season, he was also selected to be the head coach of the North Junior All-Stars in the GACA North/South All-Star game in Savannah.

During the 2012-2013 season, White received the Naismith Atlanta Tip-Off Club Bobby Cremins award which recognizes the highest honor for a coach in the state of Georgia along with receiving the Georgia Sports Writers “Coach of the Year”, the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association AAAAA Coach of the Year and Dekalb County Tip-Off Club Coach of the Year.

The Wolverines also finished 2013 in the Top 25 of the top national polls, including ESPN, USA Today, MaxPreps, and PrepNation.

During the 2009-10, 10-11, and 11-12 seasons, White was named Georgia Athletic Coaches Association AAAA Coach of the Year, Atlanta Journal-Constitution AAAA Coach of the Year, and Dekalb County Tip-Off Club Coach Of The Year.

His previous coaching stint came at Carver High School where he garnered 5AA Coach Of The Year honors after leading his team to the region championship and then on to the state championship game in 2004.

White has compiled a 373-86 career coaching record over a 19-year career, including a 263-46 at Miller Grove.

Away from the high school ranks, White was invited to the fall training camp for USA Basketball as a court coach in October 2014.

Shortly after he was named an assistant coach for the U16’s that went on to win the gold medal in the FIBA Americas tournament in Argentina in June 2015.

To date, 32 former players have played or presently are playing collegiately or professionally.

White earned his degree from Georgia Southern in 1995. He is married to the former Jemeka Price and has two children. He also earned his master’s degree from Coppin State in 2003.
Hire. Him. Now.

Please provide notes

Please provide cliffs if you were able to listen.
Sorry was driving while listening and then work is busy.

He talked well of Bruce. Basically mentioned he recognizes it's a long investigation by the FBI, so their only plan is just to 'stay the course'. He was asked directly if he plans on having Bruce as the head coach next year and said "Absolutely."

He was then asked about if how popular Bruce is has weighed into his decisions. He talked well of how exciting everything was and packing out the arenas. He did say "it's not a popularity contest" during this, which was probably the only thing people could get concerned about, but I think he was mainly just saying I look at everything. He mentioned appreciating how exciting the bball season was.

He also mentioned that he has talked directly with Bruce about the investigations, and Bruce feels he's done nothing wrong.

All in all, I thought it was about as good of an endorsement as a coach can get considering. He sounded pretty positive about it to me.

Thank you for the cliffs. I don’t think my heart could take him being let go. If he was, I want the Texas Tech coach.

TBB's lack of boog hoops coverage almost seems spiteful at this point

it really does... who knows how much each part played a factor, but between being a Kentucky fan, the best b-ball guys migrating over here, having egg on his face from the whole “moot” fiasco, and giving the impression he just flat out doesn’t like BRUCE - the b-ball coverage over there is abysmal

in his defense though, I’m sure most people over there care far more about which side of the ball Igbignagasaki lined up on in the 90 seconds of practice Gus let them watch through a mesh-covered chain-link fence

so just burying your head in the sand and ignoring basketball is probably the safest course of action right now

I'll not believe this and please nobody tell Fatz about this falsehood.

in.
con.
solable.

I’ma need this to be a big misunderstanding... I mean, he’s only my favorite player we’ve ever signed...

ever...

in the history of the entire goddamn program...

which I know isn’t a high bar...

and BRUCE can easily surpass - and would be on the verge of already *cough Christian Brown cough* if not for that rotten Chuck Person...

but I’d sign Gus to a lifetime contract if that’s what it took to keep Davion around

Minneapolis? More like My-Nippel-es.

GOTDAM, family. Top Five expectations and only a few short months before Bruce intentionally tanks against some Div. III squad to crush the souls of our handsome boys only to build them back up. Bruce is a fvcking legend. I fully expect we'll lose a few more regular season tilts this next year just so our legs will be fresh for the DANCE.

If we're playing with a full roster next year and add another PG to the mix you might as well call off the tournament.

Nice. I’m surprised the media is giving the Boogs this much love. Thought we’d need another year to prove ourselves before we got this kind of respect

Looks like Malik is still viewed as a team leader. I guess this means he isn't looking to transfer like some have speculated.

Some boog is trying to explain to me that if Austin comes back he will be a lottery pick. I hate the boog board.

Rodney says Chuma prefers the 3 and not the 4. He's not a real physical guy. We're pretty set at the 3. We really need a little help at the 4 and 5.
