OT: AUBURN BASKETBALL

He was on the list of 3 that might which would suck because we would have lost both of our high commits from that year.

I remember that. But had he heard something new to reinforce the idea that he’s going to leave to go somewhere to play the 3?

Jamal Johnson 6’4 SG from Memphis is transferring. Birmingham kid that we recruited. May be someone to watch that could RS in 2018-2019.

I’m pretty sure Johnson didn’t have a commitable offer in high school. As we took Mitchell instead. It’ll be interesting to see if we have any interest.

Yeah I’m thinking he’s not Boog caliber. Hopefully we can get someone on par with Ronnie Johnson in the grad tranny market. Think we def need to add a true PG to the roster for next season though even if Samir could do it a bit.

I have no idea this answer but a lot of 6 foot 7 guys playing the four in the NBA?
Draymond comes to mind. I’d say the answer is no in general but there’s a lot more small ball these days.

I don’t get the disdain for the 4. It’s the showcase position in the BRUCE high scoring attack. Kid is perfect for it. I don’t see him as an NBA athlete for the 3.

Looks like Crean is about to hire Chad Dollar. I thought he was a bit of a disappointment at Auburn in his one year. Didn't seem to help much in recruiting, where I thought he would help the most (in ATL)

it's because we're an Under Armor skoo...cain't compete

Really have to think this has to do with him feeling like he’d reached the peak of his development at Auburn and needed to make a move to the next step to continue his growth and development as a player. Nothing else makes much sense for him to leave and sign with an agent. He has to think Europe or the G League will be better for his development than another year at Auburn. And if that’s the case, I can’t say I blame him.

It’s just so dumb go play in Asia or whatever instead of being the offensive centerpiece for a top 5 club.

Because his parents are apparently set on ruining his future.

I wouldn't say that. They had a plan for him to be two and done. They stuck to that. It's been said he doesn't like school.

Even if he never makes it to the NBA, which I'm not sure if he came back, he would ever improve his stock enough to do so, he can make a lot of money playing professionally overseas

There's a difference between making a plan and sticking to it and making a plan and completely disregarding all the data you collect along the way to adjust that plan.

That said, Staph is one of my favorite players to ever take the court for Auburn and I hope it works out for him.
