Appears as though Auburn has begun its recruitment of former Memphis Combo Guard Jamal Johnson. The Birmingham native had a decent freshman season, averaging 6.9 points, 3 rebs, and 1 assist per game, and proved to be the only consistent outside shooting threat for Memphis this past season. On top of being a potential transfer target fot Auburn, Johnson is also one of Austin Wiley’s former teammates and closet friends from their days together at Spain Park High School. At this time it appears to be that UAB and Nevada will be Auburn’s stiffest competition for Johnson’s signature.

To be fair, lots of guys thought the same on Wiley (Hooks thought the same as JGT). Don't remember him thinking Purifoy would be back last year, but could very well be wrong.

But I agree, Im not getting my hopes up until he announces he is officially taking his name out of the draft.

According to the twitter webs, we’ve recently reached out to 6’5 Wing/Guard Austin Reaves who is transferring from Witchita State after a reasonably successful Sophmore campaign. Reaves shot over 40% from three and averaged over 8 points, 3 rebs, and 2 assists per game. By my count that’s at least 3 transfers we’ve started to recruit in the past week (Darius Hall, Jamal Johnson, and now Reaves).
