Would make sense. He's been passed by freshmen at RB and WR, changed positions 3 times since the spring, and is at least a year away from seeing PT in the secondary, if ever. Whether he should've been passed up on the RB depth chart is another argument, but he clearly doesn't fit into Auburn's plans (whatever those may be). So he might as well transfer and go somewhere he can play the position he wants to play.
Rumors abound that a fairly heated "players only" meeting was recently held and the "team leaders" were calling out the guys thinking of transferring.

Ive seen one person say it was a heated meeting but a few others say it was wasn't really heated and really the only "heat" came from NCM mouthing off and getting shutdown.

Here's the thing: if NCM is considering transferring enough that his teammates know it, then it's time for NCM and anyone who shares his same thoughts to move on. I don't want to see him go because I think he's a valuable asset to the team. But that mindset isn't going to change for NCM or his teammates this year or next year, and it will only make the locker room more and more toxic. If you're thinking of transferring, you already have one foot out the door and probably won't ever get that foot back in, even if you stay.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I have very little excitement over Auburn football thanks to Gus. I never imagined I'd be so meh over Auburn football season being here.
In Gus's defense, Embarrius has stepped it up big time this year. He's on pace for 24 catches, 296 yards, and 4 TDs as our #1 WR.

There are a lot of posters over there still that I wish would post here.
After being spoiled by quality posting on the Greg, I put Rice on ignore. I occasionally hit "show ignored content" to get a good laugh, but I make sure never to respond. I honestly think it has improved my quality of life.
