Gotta be real here. The only way I see them possibly not making it in is if they beat us and lose to GA in the SECCG...

If we beat them they are out unless thuga beats us in the Seccg.
I mean, they probably should be, but I can’t see them being left out in that scenario. I guess we’ll see how much emphasis the committee puts on conference championships.

If Wisconsin and Ok win out they wouldn’t get in. It’s bama though they’ll get in with 1 loss.

If they lose to us and then we lose to thuga, they won't put bama in over thuga because they would be champs.

Depends on how many 1 loss conference champs there are. Everybody in the PAC 12 has two. If Wisconsin drops one, the B1G will have a two loss champ. Bama gets in with one loss in that scenario.

Bama will lose the iron bowl and then be the number two seed. It'll be rationalized that they're the best team when healthy, and that month off will get them close to 100%.
Yeah I can’t see the committee passing up a chance to have an IB rematch if we could somehow finish it out...

I’m just curious to see how far they drop Uga this week. I don’t understand all the respect for clemson. Just scraping out wins with an awful loss to Syracuse

They try to act like they don’t take preseason rankings and last year’s results into account, but that’s honestly probably very hard to do...

Yep. Think the committee will have to decide either conference champ 2 loss OSU or 1 loss no champ Bama. And Tide usually wins those debates

Would be interesting. A loss Auburn, and Bama would have a really weak resume.

But as been stated, its Bama and Ohio State lost by 30+ to Iowa.

But they could have the best win among the contenders when the rankings come out tomorrow.

I think they have also played the most teams with a winning record

I fully expect us to have to play uga twice, bama twice, and climpsun twice in order to be the champs. That would be the most JABA thing ever, only in a good way.

Bama fatigue, no quality wins, and losing out on SECCG probably means no playoff

if we beat them and UGA we are a team with 2x #1 victories on our resume. We are in, a 1 loss bama will not have nearly the same claim to a spot as their schedule was much easier and AU will be conference champion so you have to say AU gets in at #4.

Miami or Clem gets in

and bama doesn't get a higher seed than AU so 2 other teams get in as well. Bama gets left out at #5 for a 2 loss AU team in your scenario.

Who would be the other team besides Clemson, Oklahoma, and AU in your scenario? If you assume Wisconsin loses (they will) it’ll be bama.

miami is going to poop on clem. but uhh. damn good question...it might really be bammer at 4 au at 3...weird.

Wisconsin losing almost guaranteed bama is in.

The only other option, and I think it's unlikely, is Ohio State if all the optics line up.

- bama looks like the did vs MSU again against us and 3 of their last 4 SEC games then become the mediocre performances in wins over A&M and MSU and a loss to AU.

- OSU does what they did to MSU against 2 more ranked teams....big 40-50 point type blowout domination wins that say "hey we fixed everything and nobody is playing better than us now AND we're conference champs.

If you don't think some of the people on that committee are looking for excuses to only have 1 SEC team you aren't really thinking it through. They will want to find a team they can sell for that spot. Leaving 1 of the major leagues out if painful enough, but leaving 2 out is going to make the balk a bit. In the end I think they'd still go with bama but you watch the national conversation start to change if Urban's boys are blowing out Michigan and the Wisconsin. It will attempt to drive the entire conversation towards them.
