I'd honestly take the Vandy gig if given the choice. Boogs would have to pay me at least 25% more to consider it.
Could be anything but was thinking football. I guess if you're talking $100k or less cost of living might be a check for Boogville. In basketball? No, and it isn't close.
Pretty much. I guess when you're dealing with mouth breathing football coaches things like chicken finger joints and waffle houses become a factor.Vandy is better in all sports, academics, and is located in a better city

I guess I'm trying to look at it like a regular job than a thing where I'm trying so hard to win a championship. I'd be cool winning 7 or so games a year, cashing checks, living in Nashville not dealing with the hyper competitive environment of somewhere that cares too much.I assume that there is some truth to the idea that it is harder to keep kids eligible there if they are really dumb. Obviously sometimes it's just a cliche that good football players are idiots, but most of the time it is true. I also assume that Vandy is more concerned with maintaining their academic reputation, so they don't "play the game" so to speak likesomemost places do.
Would be interesting to see where Vandy would be right now if they could have held onto James Franklin. They could be the Stanford of the South in football no doubt in my mind.If Stanford isn’t have trouble getting kids qualified and fielding a top 15 team each year, there’s no reason Vandy couldn’t either. Bring the right coach in there with a silver tongue that’s both effective on the BOT/school administrators and recruits and you could easily field a dynamite team there.
Same goes for GT. That place is an absolute sleeping giant for the right coach and if the school gave a shit. So many rappers and celebrities in Atl that would be down to hang out on the field there and create excitement for the program. Just need a Pete Carrol type dude to orchestrate that

I don't think those places exist anymore. Are we trolling each other here? I thought this was troll free space.
Ha. Just felt the urge to go with something controversial see where it went. If it was me I’d rather have the Vandy gig of the 2.Are we trolling each other here? I thought this was troll free space.
We'd have Kirby, Gus would probably be moderately successful because there is no pressure at Vandy and the East would be even worse with Kirby in Auburn, and UGA would either still have Richt or maybe be even worse when they fired him and settled for someone like Bobo.I often wonder where we’d be right now if Gus had taken the 3 mil per year job offer there after the 2010 season. I’d sure as hell love to know....

He'd have the "Arkansas Christian School Pipeline" kinda like we once had the "Dillard Pipeline"Gus would be fired by now unless Vandy ponied up some money for some recruiters. You can't win at Vandy without getting some talent, and Gus would convince zero kids to come to Vandy.

Yeah and I need that world class entertainment and cuisine in my life if I'm making millions. An ultra exclusive country club. Boogville just ain't cutting it. In fairness neither do most SEC towns. Vandy is a sleeping giant.Meh. You can do okay on $3mil a year in Nashville. Keep yourself bowl eligible and upset a big boy every couple years and you've got job security. Definitely better than coaching in the most toxic village on the plains and answering to no less than a dozen wealthy lunatics and having to deal with Boog fans on the reg.
Vandy >>> Auburn

Harsh but fair. You can tag a lot of that to any corch in Boogville but we are blessed to have BRUCE for now.I know one job I would never ever want. Boog basketball coach. Nearly 100% of your bosses are racist. A good 40% of the fanbase is racist. Only about 5% of the fanbase has any clue what is going on during a basketball game. I really do feel for Bruce. Most of the fans are fats and they just sit there and chew on popcorn and sip on Coke the whole time.
