OT: Thieves Really Suck....!!!

I have never had a car stolen, but had several broken into.First time having a home violated,it really sucks.

I had $500 cash stolen out of my truck while playing pickup games at my old high school. I was super pissed at first and then I realized it was my dumb ass who left $500 cash in an unlocked vehicle.

Never been on that end of a theft.

What did they take? Trash the place too?

Yeah someone kicked in a side door to my old house. Ripped my flatscreen off the wall and took some other electronics as well.

My home was invaded, broken into, while I was at work two days ago. I am really pissed and ready to kick some ass.Just wanted to vent and ask if any fellow Greg members have experienced this booshit ...!!!
Had a group of punks break into my truck about a year ago. Chased them down the street while on the phone with the cops. Caught the bastards and they all went to jail. But that feeling of vulnerability still hasn’t passed. Just a weird feeling that I can’t shake.

I guess 5 years ago, maybe, my garage was broken into by meth heads looking for stuff to sell. They took my chainsaw and a couple of inexpensive things. Allstate was great with the claim. What angered me, the local cops knew who was behind it, but wouldn't tell me. I could have ripped the cop's head off his body. At the time, I was going through divorce and lived in a ritzy neighborhood. These days, I live in the white ghetto, and I've never had a hint of trouble. Go figure.

Sorry OP, that really sucks. My place got broken into last August. Came home and was wondering to myself "why the f*** is my front door wide open" only to find that they ripped off my tv and everything attached to it. Most disturbing was that they tossed my bedroom, felt completely violated.

A few years ago in Huntsville, there was a van patrolling our neighborhood dropping off 30 year old dudes selling magazines to "go to college". I saw it happening and we didn't answer the door when they came by.

Turned out they were a huge home invasion gang and were basically scoping out the vulnerable. We have a lot of older retired NASA folks in our neighborhood.

yeah, that's what happened at my place. Kids selling newspapers subs and they would scope who was home and when.

Me and my college roommate walked in on a guy in the middle of stealing our crap. We stayed a few days over thanksgiving break for work and were playing football with some guys. All those business would leave flyers on the doors so the guy would scope and if a door had some flyers on he would know the ppl were gone for the break. Well we weren’t. We were just lazy.
Anywho we open the door and he’s got some my roommate bow and a few other things. At first we were both caught off gaurd and I asked if he was our other roommates friend (it was me and 3 other guys that lived there). Well, about the time I asked him was the time me and Jeff (my roommate with me) realized our tv and PlayStation was gone.
You want to talk about rage? I don’t think I have ever been so angry. Just a burning in my gut and I could have murdered the guy. We pinned him against the door and started beating the crap out of him. I quickly think he might not be alone and let go of him and run through the apartment really quick. When I got back my roommate had him and I thought he was going to toss him off the rail and we are on the 3rd floor. Dude was high and had druggie strength and got away. We tackled him down the stairs but hurt us as he didn’t feel a thing and got to his truck and left. His truck was backed up and on btw so he he has done this a lot of times.
The cops caught him a mile down the road so we got our stuff back. He was in our apartment for like 30 minutes and was on his last trip when we walked in on him so we got lucky. He stole like over 60k worth of stuff. TVs, computers, games, movies, a ln expensive Gibson guitar, hunting equipment. Not many ppl get to beat up their robber but we did. The cop was congratulating us on how terrible and beat up he looked.

Yeah I’m the story I mentioned above my roommate picked up a HDMI chord and said “man this is an expensive chord and it looks like the same one I have”. We get up to our door and my expensive cooler was gone and I said “hey where is my cooler?”. That’s when we both got big eyes and realized. Then we open the door and was shocked to say the least.

Pawn shop?
No,our tablets were stolen,I bought new ones 4 days after the b@e,downloaded what data and apps that I could to the new one and got lucky. It pulled in two pics from the cloud of the two people that had bought the tablets from the thief.I forwarded the pics to local police, they posted them on the police facebook page and the next morning the tablets were brought to the police station. As I am replying its all still being processed.

Great news, the thief has been identified and the stolen goods are in the hands of local police.

Nice!

Most intruders are really, really dumb and will eventually get themselves caught. Some idiot didn't scout the homes in my neighborhood at all because there are only 2 large, scary dogs here and one of them is mine. He picked the home with larger, scarier dog and got a chunk of his leg taken in the process. You'd think the poop in the yard the size of elephant dung might have tipped him off that a full blooded mastiff was nearby.

I miss my Akita. He was big, even for that breed. Maybe weighed 175lbs. I'd rather have had a grizzly bear after me, than that dog. He ate a Pit Bull, once. Nobody ever came around my place, except family and friends.
