Govt job in Bham?Just went through a 4 round interview process but got the dreaded email today. Sucks but ah well.
Ha I wish. It was a CAT adjuster spot with Allstate.Govt job in Bham?
That ish better have been $100k+ job. All kidding aside, anything less than $70k and more than 1 interview is a hard no from me. Luckily I don’t have to play this game anymore unless I choose to.Ha I wish. It was a CAT adjuster spot with Allstate.
Depends on the storm it easily could have been. It was 70+. I would have been traveling a ton and most would be turned off by it but I don’t have a family so it doesn’t bother me. I’m guessin g I didn’t have enough experience. That ish better have been $100k+ job. All kidding aside, anything less than $70k and more than 1 interview is a hard no from me. I took that Tejas insurance adjuster's test back in 2012, and I guess I was too old to climb those 12/12 roof pitch lines. It was a desparation shot at the time, and all turned out well in the end. They "sell" you that test, but they never tell you that you have to have experience. How you gone get experience without getting experience. Oh well, back to selling trailer houses.Ha I wish. Well I have experience since I worked those hurricanes last fall for a few months.I took that Tejas insurance adjuster's test back in 2012, and I guess I was too old to climb those 12/12 roof pitch lines. they don't mess around with their test. When I was handling claims for multiple states, they made us take the Texas licensing test because most states recognize it. Have to sit in 40 hours of classroom instruction before the test. And none of it teaches you the skill you actually need to be an adjuster - how to talk calmly to people that are screaming at you.I took that Tejas insurance adjuster's test back in 2012, and I guess I was too old to climb those 12/12 roof pitch lines. Nah that’s part of it. I enjoyed it for some reason...not the yelling but the overall nature of the job. Plus, it’s lucrative if you can find work. All state was going to pay me a base plus pay for all my travel, hotel, food, equipment, and would have let me use my credit cards to rack up points so it was like free money.they don't mess around with their test. I don't miss that job at all
Edit to add I didn't mean to discourage RistDown with my story. Hope you find something soon
Man I want a job where you can travel so ya why I’m kind of bummed about this.I travel all the time and have a family. I've found that traveling helps my marriage. As soon as i leave my wife is ready for me to go, and when I get back she is ready for my return.
I saw you respond to that guy hiring in the SE. I bet that will work out!I won’t. Just bummed.

I actually took it at my in laws home & my FIL signed that I had done it on the legit. He was Prez on an local insurance company & there was no way he would have signed off unless it was on the square. Did you ever get involved with one of those scheme companies that wanted you to go to Texas and take courses to learn how to actually input CAT stuff? They all had the same model & you took a test which was actually yourself & robots taking it simultaneously. Had to pay for your own air fare there, and three nights in a hotel PLUS pay for admin of the program. SCAMthey don't mess around with their test. Sounds way to familiar. Boys are gone now, so I don't miss their sports activities, PLUS we get along way better now than we ever did before.I travel all the time and have a family. Keep after it. Companies always have a need for them because it's not a job for everyone, but definitely pays well if you're good at itNah that’s part of it. But the main reason I wanted it was the training the would provide. As an independent you’re on your own and have to figure everything out for yourself while paying for it. You can make way way more as independent but I’m not confident enough yet to go as fast as you need to close enough claims to make it worthwhile.
Maybe. It’s managing a Waffle House, which isn’t exciting, but it’s pretty lucrative and I would be is Destin. Idk though.I saw you respond to that guy hiring in the SE. I bet that will work out!
Yeah it does. I’m just not good at it right now and don’t have the funds at the moment to learn it on my own.Keep after it. Companies always have a need for them because it's not a job for everyone, but definitely pays well if you're good at it
Nah, I was never interested in doing CAT. I handled minor claims for a while, thefts, vandalism, lightning, light storms, etc that you could handle over the phone. Then I moved into the liability world and once I started having to haggle with lawyers over what a kid's pain was worth from a dog bite, I realized that wasn't the life for meI actually took it at my in laws home & my FIL signed that I had done it on the legit. Just do that until you find something else. You never know if you may like it or not. Waffle House is ran very, very well from corporate down. I’ve done work with them, and they’re the most white collar corporate company I may have ever seen believe it or not. A lot of opportunities to move up. I’m going to try and call that man. We’re in the processs of doing WH health insurance. Can you PM me his number?Maybe. It’s managing a Waffle House, which isn’t exciting, but it’s pretty lucrative and I would be is Destin. Idk though.
Yeah that’s what he told me. Surprised to say the least. Mani need to buy your lunch one day. You seem to know a lot about business haha.Just do that until you find something else. Just keep your head right. If it can win a game for a fan base, it can land you a job.Just went through a 4 round interview process but got the dreaded email today. Sucks but ah well.
You ever heard of mike high adjusters? I know of 2 ppl that went through their training and got jobs as soon as they were done. They have a good reputation. Just a little expensive.I actually took it at my in laws home & my FIL signed that I had done it on the legit. No I never actually got any farther than passing the Texas test. When I talked to my oldest son's future FIL, I realized it was way more complicated & I had neither the patience nor the interest in it. Part of that was prolly he owned a company & I could tell he pretty much thought I couldn't do it. And while I appreciate him spending 3 hours with me, appreciated more the candid approach he rendered to me.You ever heard of mike high adjusters? I just knew folks that were making a LOT of money, & working half time, but 14 hour days.
Guy I know from Mobile was knocking down $150K working about 4 months a year. They called him on a big hail storm deal in Minnesota about 10:30 one Sunday night for him to take an early bird. When he said no, they told him they wouldn't call him back & he says "Of course you will". And of course they did.Oh yeah. I know a dude that cleared 300k last year and it been doing g it 2 years.
