Didn’t get to watch the second half so I’m sure some you guys can fill me in there.

Trying to maintain a positive outlook here gang. The D and special teams never quit even though the o was struggling. Nice to have studs playing in every facet of the game

Boogs still covered and won on an upset filled Saturday. Can u imagine if Zahn had gone to overtime at home to Army? Lol. We fine.

Work out the kinks in the OL next weekend and then topple an overrated MSU team, and the Boogs will be right back in the cfp conversation

The offense has a lot of work to do. Hopefully we have better players than they have looked so far. Especially OL. Thank goodness the D and ST are stout.

Hate to say it but I'm already dreading hearing the D&G's next year as we lose most if not all our front 7 on D.

some of that will just depend on who goes pro. If Marlon and Coe stick around, then the DL could better next year than it is now bc both Big Cat and Jiburnor are going to be animals. Losing the depth at LB is gonna sting but, my god, KJ Britt is gonna be AU's best LB since Dansby

AU reminded me of 2008 last night. Of course there’s not two divided groups on this offensive staff. Just a bunch of Gus’s yes men. As bad an offensive performance as I’ve seen in a looooong Time. And it came against one of the 5 worst P5 teams in the country. The offensive guru in year 6 winning with D and special teams, just as you’d expect. Lulz.

ha. I was just thinking that another 3-2 game at MSU isn't off the table this year

No way DL is better next year. Brown is a ridiculous talent at DT and we don't have anyone that will require a double team (and can defeat a double team) like him. If Marlon and Coe both leave the DL might not even be average. Big Cat and Jibunor could make us better in pass rush though. I'm less concerned about LB honestly because we only play 2 most of the time. We've played 3 more this year because we haven't been great at nickel and Atkinson is good in pass coverage. Hopefully this young secondary talent grows up this year, we could/should be a lot better in the secondary next year.

The game was depressing. Typical Gus vs an outmatched squad. We didn't get better last night. We didn't get reps for the future at QB or RB. We didn't compete like it mattered. We didn't cut down on penalties. Doesn't mean we can't/won't be better against better talent, but it was extremely disappointing. Our QB is not playing well at all. He definitely did not get better last night. OL is not playing well. We have one RB that looks like an SEC caliber back, but he has to run behind our OL. I still think 8 wins or less is likely. Not going to beat UGA or bama. Could lose to 1/all of State, A&M, or Ole Miss.

When I left the game last night, very early 4th qtr, we had about 155 yards. That was against a team that was giving up 387 a game against 1-4 CSU, Eastern Illinois and North Texas.

LOL. Good thing you didn't watch the 2nd half if you're trying to maintain a positive outlook. D and ST (minus Onnders) were bright spots. We have decent young talent all over the skill positions. We do not have the OL (nor will we have the DL after this year and/or next) to win anything of consequence.

Anybody here brave/dumb enough to watch the replay? @AUISIT? Anybody? I want to know if we ran the same play 4 times in a row, from a couple of different formations, to get 55-60 of our 89 passing yards we had going nto the 4th Qtr. Probably on that drive where we got stuffed on 4th down. I deleted the game yesterday morning as soon as I woke up so I couldn’t subject myself to it anymore. TIA if anybody can help.

They usually pop up on youtube pretty quickly.

Thoughts? We’re fvcked offensively. The OL might improve, but it won’t be nearly enough to be very good this year. The run game will suck the rest of the year because of the OL and the inexperience at RB (I do like Boobee and Shivers, they just need more experience). The passing game is atrocious right now. Stidham looked ok at times and god awful at times. The WRs are good in the screen game, which is about all the offense we have. We can’t scheme up a solid run game. We can’t scheme up a decent intermediate passing game. Hell, we can’t even make an obvious hot route adjustment when a CB comes on a blitz.

The offense reminds me so much of the 2009 offense where we scored some points against sorry descents but any defense with a pulse gave us all kinds of fits. The passing game was poor that year against the conference, and the run game was just so so behind a decent OL. I’m expecting us to average about 23-25 PPG in conference play this year, which probably gets us to 4-4 in the conference.

Stidham is a head case because his O-line is trash. Now when he actually has time in the pocket, he’s still terrified and thinking he has no time so he quits seeing the field. He also has no internal clock.

Kevin Steele was obviously happy with the team's performance vs Arkansas...

I don’t really know where to put this but I want to go on record regarding Kelly Bryant. If he’s dumb enough to want to play for Gus, he’s probably not smart enough to find Auburn.

I'm curious as to what Bryant will be looking for, other than essentially a guarantee to start the season as the starter.

- An offense that will use what he's best at to make him the most successful college QB he can be but that likely limits any chance he has at getting a chance to play QB in the NFL

- An offense that won't have him run very much and will instead try to help his draft stock and make him a "more complete QB"

Too many times these DTQB's think they can make a NFL team by not doing what they do best and trying to become something they aren't. Do what you do best, win games and make plays. Let the NFL figure out what to do with your freakish athletic ability later. You aren't turning into Joe Montana in one season man.

Agree with a lot of that. As odd as it now seems, Stidham may be here again next year. No guarantee for a starting job here.
