Boogs v Clemson ( Round of 32)

It all started because we had awful Rhett in charge of our QB recruiting and awful JB missing on every tackle in America for 3 years.

Those 2 individuals are the reason for our program having been where we’ve been instead of where we should have been.
I've got it significantly higher up the ladder than those 2. Yeah we'd be better today if we had studs at those assistant positions back in that timeframe, but the problems begin within the HC and AD offices.

Good QBs and OLs can make up for shitty ADs and HCs.

See Newton, Cameron and Marshall, Nicholas for reference.

Players are and always will be the most important part of a program.

We wouldn’t be in the tourney without Harper.
Guise, can we not have the Harper argument/discussion the rest of the night?

We all agree some here believe him to be our best/most important player and some believe him to be mentally weak and playing scared.

Let’s please leave it at that, for the love of God.

Hopefully he’s better than ever next year.

JMO, but I think you need a real foundation to get where Clemson has. A few recruiting wins make a difference, but the foundation keeps your lows really high and allows you to make the most of the years you have that elite talent. We made the most with Cam because he was literally a once in a lifetime player. We didn't make it with Nick even when he came back because our foundation sucked (that foundation being Jay Jacobs and Gus Malzahn and all the power brokers that like their sandbox).

yeah, we need better talent and we'd be better with better Qb's, but we won't make the most of that talent or be able to be solid in the down years when the base of our operation is crap.

Ok.

We can agree to disagree but the biggest difference between our programs was Deshaun Watson.
