Everyone in the Clam and Bruce included would love to see Chuma start taking over games, but I think he's just happy right now to defer to upper classmen like Jared and Bryce. Wonder if Chuma is a middle child
I thought Danjel looked like he didn’t know where he was supposed to be on both ends. The one he just ran down the court when UAB put a shot up they got a board and wide open 3 rankled me.
Dunbar took 8 shots that’s way too many although he did hit a big one.
Austin 2-5 from the field not too good. Not horrible but I feel like he’s gotta look to pass a little more.
Bryce was way off but Samir has been much different/ worse in our games away from the Clam.
Chuma gotta get more involved in general and particularly when we struggle. He’s automatic on the block.
Will be nice to play a real team that isn’t afraid to actually play ball in NC St although they’ll run us out the gym if we shoot like pure ass.
Good thing is these boogs play great D so we can be off and still be in games. I mean not this bad but in general. I’d like to see us dial up more pressure on these kinda teams gotta force TOs and speed them up somehow.
MOST of the ones over there that aren’t GREG crossovers suck when it comes to basketball just like you infer here. They’re so easily trolled by the likes of aler, the King of them all. I had an account DEFCONAU, that I used to line them up for a couple of years & watch them squirm. I once made up an IRL deal where I threw out an apple core & got arrested for littering. Only made the original post & watched it run 3 or 4 pages. That Keller/Scalded guy had figured it out & was tryna tell everyone what I was doing, but is known for being a lush alcoholic & no one paid him any attention. Pretty sure @Slippin Jimmy can attest to this.Being on the bunker after tonight makes me appreciate the posters on this board. Fuggin guys over there are acting like the sky is falling. Auburn not a tournament team, one guy even started a thread asking why Bruce gets a pass and Gus never does. Just laughably bad takes over there.
I’m mostly a lurker here, but wanted to give a shout out to the best basketball minds in regards to our boogs.
They have set a high bar but that might be the best video yet.
Good points, but I thought DP was ok. He needed Jared to point where he needed to go on O a couple of times, but on D he seemed to know his spot on most possession and played good D. He manned one guy up for 10+ secs at one point and forced a pass before a shot clock violation, IIRC.I thought Danjel looked like he didn’t know where he was supposed to be on both ends. Good points. Great move by Bruce to change his plan when the outside shooting was clearly not working.I did some very rudimentary statistical analysis last night after reading a lot about our offense’s inability to adjust when 3s aren’t falling. Just from watching the game, I thought there was a distinct change in our offensive attack after the double tech on the HCs. We seemed to shelve the 3s in exchange for a more downhill attack and interior touches.
In the first 28 minutes of the game, we were 12-35, 9-19 inside the arc and 3-16 from 3. We also attempted 16 FTs (11-16). In the last 17 minutes, including OT, we were 10-22, 9-16 from inside the arc and 1-6 from 3. We attempted 18 FTs (16-18). Now the FTs were exaggerated a bit late in the game because of UAB fouling to put us on the line, but I thought we were much more aggressive trying to get to the basket in the latter part of the game instead of settling for 3s. Hopefully, we recognized that, while the 3 is still an extremely valuable weapon for us, we still have other quality options and don’t have to force shots, even if they’re good looks.

We are a great 3 point shooting team, but if we rely on it too heavily, we will lose games when we are cold. As you pointed out, we can score effectively attacking the basket as well. Harper is filthy attacking the basket. The one element to that we did not see Saturday was kicking for open shots or having Harper dish to Chuma or Wiley in the paint off the drive for easy dunks. Add those elements and its an entirely new method of attack for us.
